No, I'm not insane :) But since I have a System 1 setup, I thought I should at least get more than one game. So I've collected the parts for Road Blasters.

I was going to try it out tonight. I got the RB cart installed, put in the RB control panel. Then it hit me... the harness it's matching up. RB has a 4x3 molex connector. It doesn't seem to go anywhere. Am I missing a cable that converts this 4x3 molex into something else?

Thanks!

I can dig mine out if you need me to, but I think that is for the pedal.

Let me know if you need photos.

Im pretty sure that extra molex is for the foot pedal as silverunicorn said. My system 1 cab needs some cable management but the only connectors I recall were for the CP and the FP.

Thanks guys. Let clarify...

But first, look here (http://www.videogameparts.com/product.sc?productId=264&categoryId=42)

This 4x3 molex is what comes out of the RB controller. It's not clear where it should connect. There is nothing like a male 4x3 on the main System 1 PCB. Actually, the system 1 PCB only has connectors for smaller inline 1x8 (or whatever) connectors.

Similarly, the foot petal has a large 1x6 (I think) molex. It doesn't seem to have any place to connect.

For this reason, I'm wondering if I'm missing another harness that adapts these larger molex connectors into something that attaches to the System 1 PCB.

I'd be happy to learn I'm totally confused :)

Ok I went in my gameroom and inspected my System 1 Cab. The 4x3 Molex connect from the System 1 Board to the CP, however, there is a splitter or something from the CP to the connector that goes to the FP.

It appears to be spliced right into the CP harness.

Picture 1 is my System 1
Picture 2 is my 4x3
Picture 3 is connector for FP

If I can remove this piece from my harness I will send it to you. This cab is going to be a MM anyway and I wont be converting back. I already sealed up the hole for the FP assembly.

Not sure if they did them all the same way, but it looks like you're missing an adapter harness, as Machfelon said.

From my CP, the large 4x3 molex goes from the CP to this harness, which then plugs into the motherboard plugs, the harness also has the lead that goes down to the foot pedal (with the 5 pin molex).

Here's some pics of the harness that I removed from my machine:

Let me know if you need any additional photos and I would be happy to get them for you.

Thanks Mach and Chris!

It looks like you two are showing pics of the same harness, just from different perspectives. Mach's pic #2 shows it pretty clearly, as do both of Chris's pics.

So it would definitely seem I'm missing that part. Who knew... I had no idea. Marble Madness goes directly from the CP to the System 1 PCB ... didn't think anything special would be needed for Road Blasters.

Mach, that's very generous of you. I'll drop you a PM.
