In the marble madness we're working on, the +5 is only running at 1.5v. If unplugged from motherboard all voltages are fine.

I'm using the Motherboard from P1001, which was tested working, and an AR3 Board from Quarterarcade which was supposed to be working. Anyone have any ideas of whats going on?

Any help is appriciated.

I have been helping on this and we have reached a road block and need some ideas.

This is a really cool game we are trying to bring back from the dead. Started out with just a nice empty cabinet and went shopping and bought a working...ARIII audio regulator power supply, working Logic, and a working Game Cartridge….made up the wiring harnesses that we needed and have double checked that work.

Without the power cable being plugged into the logic the voltages going into AR III test right but coming out of AR III the +5 is 14 V, when you plug the power cable into the logic it drops the +5 voltage to 1.42V.. The 11v at the second "BIG BLUE" filter cap (new) also drops to 1.5 volts…..does any body know if this power supply will regulate with out a load?

.... tried a different power brick, changed the 5 volt reg on the ARIII, in case that took a hit and have tested all the other components in the power supply and they test OK.

Just took parts to a working Road Blasters Game in hopes to test them but it uses the other different style board set up.

So we started out with all known working boards but suffer from low +5 when they are all put together. Can't figure out if the Logic is drawing the Voltages down or if the amperage is not there to support the Voltage from power brick, or regulator, of if maybe the SINCE circuits on the Logic can throw the regulator off.

ANY Ideas???

I had similar issues even after rebuilding my ARIII. I ended up replacing the big blue which finally solved the problem.

Thanks Phetishboy, I tried a new BIG BLUE and it did not make any difference, didn't think it would as i had tried my extra power brick in it but went for it any way in case that one also has a bad cap.

At this point I need to find a different AR III to try in this cabinet or a machine to try this AR III in, unless some one else has ideas.

Seem like the old ATARI tech links I had are dead, any body know of good info sites for Atari?
