I have a non working Marble Madness mother board (says Marble Madness on it)
and a working mother board that is playing Roadblasters. I just Plugged in my new Marble Madness Kit and the start buttons to start the game but no trackball reaction whatsoever.
put a trackball from my working Millipede in and still nothing. I could have sworn I heard there was a special chip on a Marble Madness CPU pcb that you need. I was hoping in was a socketed one and I could just steal it from the bigger pcb and throw it into my working Roadblasters. I have three working Marble Madness carts and they all do the same thing so I doubt it is the carts. does anyone know which chip it is?? I enjoy this hobby but I am getting older and forgetful.

Thanks for the help in advance

Doug I have a RB that I put a MM in and I don't recall swapping chips at all. Are you sure the Track Balls are plugged into BOTH the correct spots? Just plugging the first one in gets you the start buttons but no TBs.

This seems like an obvious answer, so sorry I'm not trying to talk down, just giving you the only idea I have. If I can take a picture of anything let me know.

pretty sure the LETA is on the main board and not the marble madness cartridge (board). Some of the main boards have the LETA and some do not. Those without the LETA will not work with a marble madness cartridge because they can't interpret the track ball movements. Not sure if it's possible or not to add a LETA to a main board that never had one. Probably not the best option plus LETA chips are very rare and Atari Scott is likely the only source for them if he even has any left. You might need a different main board that has the LETA if yours does not.
