Marquee turns on and the monitor turns on but displays a plain black screen. Test mode does nothing and it won't play blind. It had done this once before but suddenly worked again for a bit but now back to square one. Reseated the PCB and checked all the connectors and such so I'm not sure what to do next, never heard of this particular problem before. Is it maybe a bad PSU?

measure voltage at the chips like seen in my PSU guide. chances are the power supply crapped out, maybe especially so if you're running linear still.

if it's switcher, measure voltage at the power supply to see if anything's coming out of it. if so and the game isn't getting juice, then you probably have a wiring problem, or maybe something in the board.

I've always called in to let them know what I'm looking for, cause I had a couple items that happened to be out of stock last year. I can't remember if I gave out my e-mail to them and they sent me the paypal quote or if I e-mailed them though!

either way I like talking to live people, but I think you submit a list of parts and then they send an invoice to paypal for you to pay.

EDIT: their switcher adapters come in different varieties, you'll probably have to buy the power supply through them because the lugs are arranged differently between a black Happ power supply and a silver one. the MCR adapters work with the black ones for instance, but the Qbert one that a friend of mine got used the silver one (which I think has a stronger amperage than the black model). so you might want to clarify what you need.

Thanks for the response. So the kit doesn't come with the new adapter, just the switcher to make it work?
