Man playing real life "Frogger" hit by SUV

This is funny as hell! I would probably have been egging him on and laughed when he got smacked by the SUV for being dumb enough to do it!

George Costanza would be proud

Uhh, the problem is I play this all the time on my college campus. Even Cops will speed up to try and hit you.

This guy just sucks, then again he is from Clemson, SC.

He must have been on the wrong dip shit settings.

If he was heading for a high score he should have been using TG tournament settings anyway. Then he could have gotten run over 4 more times before he had to go to the hospital. Hope the doctors know how to do a cap kit, that'll probably get him seeing the right colors again.

CLEMSON, S.C. – A man has been hospitalized after police in South Carolina say he was hit by an SUV while playing a real-life version of the video game "Frogger."

Authorities said the 23-year-old man was taken to a hospital in Anderson after he was struck at around 9 p.m. Monday.

In the "Frogger" arcade game, players move frogs through traffic on a busy road and through a hazard-filled river. Before he was hit, police say the man had been discussing the game with his friends.

Chief Jimmy Dixon says the man yelled "go" and darted into oncoming traffic in the four-lane highway. Dixon says another man was heard annoying passerby with his repetitive announcement that a "Frogger kill screen was coming up."

No charges are expected against the driver. The name of the man who was struck has not been released. He was in stable condition Monday night.

A co-worker was telling me she heard this on the news today, and I did not realize she meant the local news until I opened up the story moments later.

I work in Greenville but live about a mile or two down the road from Clemson.

And no, it wasn't me; pretty sure I am the only KLOV member in the immediate area.

I was born and raised in SC and graduated from Clemson but will be the first to admit you can always count on the state of South Carolina for the some of the best dumbass news of the past century or two.

First, I want to know what he'd been drinking/smoking/snorting/whatever. I want to avoid that item.

Second, once they are sure he was in fact deliberately going into traffic, they damn well should release his name. And picture. With the word 'dumbass' across the front of it. The guy needs some serious public humiliation in conjunction with his hospital stay.

Oh, here's a good one: when he gets out of the hospital, have a camera crew asking for for quotes, and have his mother make him hold her hand going to the car, like a 4 year old.

Yes, I'm making fun of a guy who got hit by an SUV. Unless he was actually pushed into traffic, he deserves it.

Why was that left out of the yahoo article in the link on the first post?

And I want to see some one try to do a real-life Crazy Climber.

Real life is usually funnier than fiction, for sure. Wow.

Loving the dip shit and cap kit responses. BRILLIANT!
