I'm a little out of touch with the MAME scene these days... Can anyone recommend a good forum for general discussion and contacts for a ROM burning service? I know the old Lazarus/Tombstone burning network has sort of faded away and I've been thinking of getting a MAME machine going with all the trimmings including Daphne but don't know sources anymore. Any suggestions?

Thanks...

HobbyRoms will burn chips for you if you don't have a ROM programmer. If you do have one, all you have to do is download the MAME ROM, unzip it, and burn the appropriate file - they're usually named after the chip location on the board. Fixed many a board thanks to the readily available MAME ROMs.

He's looking for the Windows emulator stuff, not actual hardware. There used to be a network of people that you would send blank CD's to, and they would burn all the ROMs for you and send them back. The theory was that since they didn't receive compensation for it, it was legal. Yeah, right...

Thanks guys... Yeah, I was looking for one of those ROM burning "services". I've got most of what I need but every few years I used to get an updated set back when tombstones.org was still up but haven't done so in quite awhile. I'm also wanting to dabble in the Daphne (and maybe even console) emulators too, something I've never done before and have none of the necessary files yet to make it happen.

I'll check out those sites... If anyone has any other suggestions (or files?) that would be helpful please send along a PM.

Thanks again!

That's Daphne Downloader. A utility that automatically downloads the laser disc videos and ROMs for each game supported in Daphne (with the exception of the Bluth properties).

Hey, thanks everyone... got a lot of info to look over!

I'll definitely look in to that daphne downloader, of course the ones I'm most interested in are the Bluth ones. ;-)
