so since i cant get get rid of my corner cut cab im thinking of removing all the wiring and monitor tube and putting a pc in it and mame it, but how do i go about getting the control panel connected to the computer? thanks for any and all help/advice :)

Nah, don't do that man.

Get yourself an ArcadeVGA and a J-PAC interface. It will allow you to keep your cab JAMMA ready so if you decide to take out the MAME computer you can with minimal teardown.

You can get both of these items at http://www.ultimarc.com/

Andy's a reputable seller.

only problem with some of yalls ideas is that the jamma harness is hacked up so bad its best to just throw it out also the monitor has no yoke, rings or chasis its just a bare tube so its useless to me and i didnt mean to post here was an accident

It doesn't hurt to ask questions here...and there was some good answers. I was just trying to say that you would have better luck on the other forum since that is what they do there.

I still personally would try to find a replacement arcade monitor since it will give a better arcade feel to the games. Also, depending on how hacked up the wiring is, you can use an iPac instead of a jPac. The iplac has screw on connectors for each wire rather than simply plugging in the jamma connector. A little more work but if the wires are all still there it's pretty simple.

the CP harness is fine but the main harness has wires cut every where and it would never work again even the power cord needs to be replaced :S

It's not the best Mame candidate for a beginner. I'd keep an eye out for a dirt cheap 25" cab with a form-factor that you like and buy that instead. Just make sure it has a good monitor and non-hacked wiring. You should be able to find a reasonable one for $100 or less easy.

i would do that but shipping is what would hurt the most, i also just want something to do with this thing, i got it and a bunch of spare computer parts and computer monitors that this has the best option

drop a computer monitor in there if thats what you have laying around, thats what i have in mine and i got used to it real quick.

The ipac is the best keyboard encoder, IMO.

But there are others that work great also.
Then you move on to mouse and joystick type controls and it gets more complicated.
I'd get rid of the arcade monitor, find a nice CRT that fits good and run whatever computer you want to it. The Jamma stuff is basically a work around to save the wiring and monitor.
