That looks awesome.

That looks awesome. Tell us your method, and what you use. I read a lot on it, but it usually dont turn out like yours.

Looks like you got some sideart stickers off too??

The paint stripper in the attached photo, a large sponge, bucket of water, a few 3m finishing pads...which dont seem much different than ones used for washing dishes, and plastic scrapers.

Use the paint stripper in about a 1ft by 1ft section, leave on for about 5 mins, scrape it off.
After a bit of paint removal, wash it with the sponge and water, dry. Repeat.

For small areas of paint, LIGHTLY use the finishing pads.

If you had more pictures. Someone could make a really cool gif out of this.
Make it look like Raiden is busting thorough using his lightning force.

It's alive!!!

whoops...connected to the wrong connector..let's try the other one!

To do:
Extra button connections (player 4 wiring on control panel doesn't match pins on harness) - low punch, low kick dead
Trim particle board holding pcb to fit cabinet
New connector for monitor power
New locks on coin doors and backdoor
Install coin mechs
Removal of "Added" coin counter
Joysticks not returning to center
Mount monitor adjustment board
Service credit button not working

That monitor looks flawless (victory).

Keep us posted!!! (we love us some arcade pron).

Joysticks corrected and center correctly (player 2 needs replaced with a red one at some point), player 4 connector corrected (someone stuck a key pin in there to key it for a Capcom Vs SNK kit) and the starter in the light fixture is going and needs swapped.

Now I'm seeing a bit of a monitor issue

Notice the bottom looks a little squished and I have about an inch of black at the bottom. I cannot get the image any further down with the remote adjustment board. Suggestions? (yeah..I know, it also needs degaussed)

Almost done.
I need to take a camera down tomorrow, the phone doesn't quite take the best pics.

Who would have thought to use the search option to find a fix?
Adjusted the vertical adjustment by the flyback and we're good.

Now I just need an instruction card, Midway stickers to replace those beat up ones, a red joystick, new monitor power cable (currently hot glued), new starter for the lighting and to peel those stickers off of the coin door. Almost done.

Raiden is look'n good!

If you find someone with a stash of more than 1 instruction sticker let me know as i'm looking for one also. I've been photoshoping a MK1 and MK2 card but if i can find a NOS one like i did for MK3 i'll be super happy.

A lot of members put the character instruction cards all around the bezel as well.

I hate it when people do these things to great cabinets.
What a horrible black matte paint job on that MK cabinet.

This is how I got my cabinet.
I have a Mame Cabinet, and it was an MKI cabinet that someone turned into a Bowling cabinet.

They hacked up the Control Panel and put in a trackball.
O what a mess.

I tried what you had going on there, but quickly learned that the side art was not worth saving. It had HUGE gouges taken out of it.

Couldn't tell it from the paint job because of how many layers of black paint they brushed over the top.

I ended up having to take it all off, and start with bare wood.
Nice save though.

Side art looks like it's in really good shape.

This one was intended on being a Mame cab, until I looked at the serial # sticker. Had the control panel, marquee and pcb sitting in a box for about 10 years, decided they needed a home. Still don't know where I'm going to put it, shame to leave it in the garage.
