Hi folks.
I'm pretty sold right now on the virtues of the ArcadeSD hardware for building a multi-vertical and a multi-williams (assuming I didn't just end up moving toward the new multi-Williams board for the latter). I notice none of that seems adequate to run a lot of the 4-player horizontal stuff. For example I have suicided D&D CPS2 boards, among other things. I also came across through barter, an NBA JAM converted cabinet (was originally a Primal Rage apparently; it's a hack job now and I can bring some dignity back to it). Is MAME just the only real solution for this stuff right now? I'm not interested in building a frankenpanel everything-in-one beast, but a dedicated unit that's really only meant for playing 3- and 4-player stick-and-3-buttons (button 4 for d&d might be the start buttons). So D&D x 2, Golden Axe, KotR, Simpsons, Gauntlet, uh, NBA Jam I guess, and so on. Thoughts?
Also it sounds like there are fairly bulletproof MAME front-ends. I have a spare PC running Windows 7 that I can allocate to this and not expect to get back. It's a 2009-ish unit, core 2 duo, half a terabyte of drive space. My goal is to manage to get there with a licensed solution for arcade use where I can include and exclude games to match what I'm legally clear to operate. But for now I just want to get the tech right, before I buy and closet any more boards. I'm studying up on ROM burning (thread in other section here) to see what I can do with all of them.
