Mame Cabs From HELL!

lol dude that is awesome. I've seen some of these abominations in my travels on the internet but never all collected into one nice place.

I often see mame 'arcades' on CL for $500-600. WTF!?!??!??? its a plywood box with a PC in it!

I could *maybe* see the prices if it has an arcade CRT, proper controls and is done up to look professional, but most of it is just crap somebody put together on a weekend with particle board, glue and a TV or 14 inch computer monitor they had laying around.

I nearly shit my pants:
"CLEAR THE RUNWAY. PAC-MATT IS TAKING THE FUCK OFF!!"
"What in the fuck is going on here?! Did somebody bust open a bag of skittles on this motherfuckers control panel?"

First time I read through that I was in the office, and just had to explain to a bunch of coworkers why i had fallen down on the floor laughing. I linked them, and at least one also fell out of their chair. This time I was smoking...this was a very, very bad combination. I got lucky that I didn't have smoke in my lungs on reading "jollyrods", but nearly coughed 'till puking on reading the text to pac-matt. If I ever want to quit smoking I'll read this every time I light up so I'll either get tired of puking laughing or I'll asphyxiate and be done with it. I gotta read through and see if there's been any added since the last time I read it.

Yeah. I remember reading that the first time and rollin on the floor laughing! Some very funny stuff there...

I would buy it for $150 and part it out - LOL

someone actually sent me an email asking about it, since it is in my suburb. I pointed them to the crap mame site and sent the seller an email asking if I needed a pilots license to operate it.

I bought a game (dedicated) off some guy in South Fl and when I got there, after loading my game he showed me the games he was building. He was taking stripped cabs, building a shelf behind the plexi to sit a 19" tv on, and wiring one of those $10 handheld pacman multi games that plug into the front of any tv to the joystick on the cp. I got the hell out of there before I doubled over laughing:D

i carefully studied this shit before building my mame cab.

It needs a paperboy control on it. Now I am starting to see why alot of people look down at MAME cabs...GOOD GOD!

Yea, it's hard not to look down on some of that stuff. I have to say that page should be required reading for anyone thinking of building their own cab. The simple advice of 'don't try to stick every control known to man on one CP' is something that many people need to hear.

You know, if he can make a buck at it, I can't fault the guy. For someone who doesn't play arcades much, I can see it being worth a little money. Frankly, it's probably as good a deal as the ones they were selling at Target.
