Making some LAI Vector B&W Bare PCBs if anyone's interested

I am going to make PCBs and Monitor adjustment board for the 20" B&W XY LAI Chassis (LAI-KZ-20XYB)

Pot board is designed

It will mount on the bracket that holds the heatsink

Board

How it will look / mount

And a copy of this

If you have an LAI Black and White Vector Upright Cabinet for Asteroids, or Asteroids deluxe etc this might interest you

Pots board will include
  • X Gain
  • Y Gain
  • B Adj
  • Brightness
  • Contrast

I need 5 or 6 of these, and might do a total of 20 or so depending on demand

Pic of the pcb file almost finished

Let me know if you want one :)

This project started 2 years ago

Today I spent 30 mins and started to assemble my prototype

Here's some pics so far.

Just spending small amounts of time on this here and there (a time consumer) as other projects are finished too

These LAI B&W Vector chassis have these Darlington IC's instead of TO-3 Bottletop Transistors

When restored, they are pretty reliable, so I am hoping when they are new, they will live for decades

I picked up 4 or 5 chassis in this kind of condition, and am restoring this one first (One or 2 are worse)

Flyback on

Heatsinks and shields on

More to follow . . . I bought all the parts years ago, so I have to track them down in my shed. (I cleaned the shed a few weeks ago, so there is hope . .)

When done, this combo XY chassis will be for my Battlezone. It sits in it's original bad state, as it did when I bought it 4 years ago

For the archive, the neck boards are designed, ordered, and will be in stock, when needed.

20"

14"

NOS CRT sockets have been sourced too, so be sure to ask for one.

Also, CRT sockets (The ones taking wires) for Atari B&W 19" CRTs are also sourced and in stock.
The 13" are available new still

Well, this is more than 3 years in the making since I started, but time is precious. Life gets in the way

Here is the progress I made today towards making my trashed battlezone game a reality

This PCB has a few errors - Oops. It was early days, and a prototype.

I completely forgot to mark a few caps (No cap screen print at all, LOL), and made spacing a little too big on other caps

Some of the parts are left off my list too, so there will be updating to do

I can say, I seriously doubt I will ever do another run of this PCB again, there is no demand at all

I look forward to the day I can turn this on and get a picture (I hope)
