I am really wanting to make a jamma test setup somehow.

I have looked around online and have found some details but was wondering if anyone had a step by step guide to making one.

Ideally I would like to have a standard vga monitor with converter of course mounted with buttons out front and a quick connect jamma harness powered by a computer power supply.

I know that it is possible I am just such a noob.

Anyone with suggestions or pictures of their test setup?

I built mine around a computer power supply. I've got coin, start, and the test/service/slam buttons mounted on the front - I used those square poker machine buttons. For controls, I use Sega Genesis controllers. The box also contains an isolation transformer for powering arcade monitors, and a speaker, as well as switched outlets for the test monitor and an extra. For a test monitor, I use an old Apple IIgs monitor.

For the most part I use a Jamma cabinet. :D

I also have a test rig that I will use for working on monitors or to test the occasional board. All it is for the most part is a switching power supply wired to a Jamma harness with an iso for a monitor. I pulled it out of a Jamma cab that got parted/scrapped.

I also have a CGA to VGA converter and an LCD monitor for when I don't have a monitor on the bench. For the most part like I said earlier I just toss the board in a Jamma cab.
