I've been turning a pretty rough Asteroids cabinet I've got into a Lunar Lander.
I'm doing this because I got an original Lunar Lander control panel out of a junkyard and partially restored it.
Trying to find ways to make it more "Lunar Lander-y" despite the fact that it's running on an Asteroids board with a Braze kit (Lunar Lander PCBs are pretty expensive!)

Arduino to the rescue!

Some other features I"m working on including:
- Hold abort for five seconds in attract mode to calibrate thruster (using a second Arduino)
- Hold both left and right rotate for five seconds in attract mode to disable "Special" attract mode and directly emulate lunar lander behavior.

Thoughts?

Put the thing together. All I'm missing is the bezel which should come in tomorrow. I'm planning on getting some tinted glass cut as well to replace the original asteroids bezel. I've kept all the original asteroids parts, so in theory I could return this to an asteroids at any point if I so chose. Didn't have to hack up the game harness or anything.
