How many of you have actually burned the roms for return to vax and installed them on you major havoc PCB? I have, and it works great!Nice to have a few more levels to play...

well....in each warp there are 4 levels i think, same as the original has.so when you install the roms on the PCB all you are doing is adding on to the original maps that are already there to give you more.Try the return to vax on mame.

here is the link to get the roms and instruction on where to put the roms on your board.

I can officially report that these ROMs work on an MH/Space Duel conversion.

I burned and installed them yesterday and they are pretty cool...I think that there are 5 new levels in all, and 3 new warp codes to get to them easily. But the levels themselves are very hard...definitely fun to have a new challenge, though!

And when you enter the space station for the last level...a message/shout out to Owen Rubin appears at the top :D .

Wish Clay had completed them way back...he even mentions that he planned on adding some speech. I saw that rotheblog was trying to initiate a contest of sorts for the level editor that Clay released a couple of years back:

Love to see someone take this on, make some more levels and release!

Got my roms burned yesterday and installed on my converted to MH from a Tempest. Everything is working great and now I can learn the new levels.....!!!!!

Hey if someone wants to burn the roms for me and give me a link on how to install them (tempest conversion) I would owe you one, and would pay for the service (obviously)

pm if you will

The rom chips, depending on where you buy them are roughly 3 to 11 dollars a piece, and it will take 5 roms. Here is a pic of my Major Havoc board, the white tape with the rom numbers on the chips are where they are put if you can see that. The rom chips are 27128's,Here is the link for the roms and the read me text.Yes,i have the arcadeshops AVG board on there.

Resurrecting an old thread........this is related to the current topics of the Major Havoc repro builds. I have made labels for all of my MH have roms, both original and Return to Vax roms. They are labeled correctly to reflect which set I am using. The labels make the pcb look cool.....I have also made labels for Quantum and Robotron Tie-Die rom sets also....

Do you sell label sets for Quantum, MH RTV, and Robotron? I would buy sets for each.

I have the file in a Microsoft publisher file format. Send me a pm and we can talk about what labels you need.
