Question for those of you who have done or plan to do the roller control mod...

My CPO is actually in pretty nice shape. I'm planning to mod the CP for the roller this weekend. When I drill and cut the CP, will it damage the overlay to the point that I'd need a new one- since the roller housing/bezel will cover the hole? Do the holes required for mounting it pose a threat to the CPO?

Short answer yes.

Looking at the roller, this is made to use studs underneath the CP. The bolts are not drilled all the way through the panel. There is a "lip" around the roller itself, this is all that should be seen from the top of the panel.

I will be doing mine over the next month or so. I can show it to you when completed.

Hmmmm. I'll have to look at it again when I get home tonight. I thought the lip on the top just uses 4 bolts that go through the CP and secure to the CP with 4 nuts and washers on the underside.

Ah, I think I get it now. That whole bezel doesn't go on top of the CP, does it? Just the part surrounding the roller.
