This is a custom build with one of dptwiz's beautiful new cabs. Artwork supplied by TOG. I really wanted a MH but only had so much room, so here it is. Waiting on the rest of the artwork to complete the build, hopefully have it wrapped up this summer. CP layout has the same spacing as the dedicated...believe it or not and yes, I did fit the monitor in the cab horizontally.

More pics as I make progress.

that is awesome! i like the border around the artwork

Looks awesome, Chris! I can't wait to see the finished result. We'll have to photoshop our two unusual Major Havocs together...like a big and little brother...

I am trying to complete mine before July 4th this year....

That is pretty cool! Did you have to widen the cab at all?, or is it the same dimensions as a Tempest/Centipede/Dig Dug?

The sideart on that small cabinet looks fantastic. I want to see some pics of the inside, after the guts are crammed in there.

Will it have a 6100 or an Amplifone?

Beautiful, simply beautiful.

I've played MH over at Chris25810's, and I've gotta say that game pretty much rocks. Very neat graphics.

Thanks guys, cab is same as a centipede and it will have a nice 6100 installed. I have a repro panel blank so I didn't want to widen it any. I'll post more pics when I make progress.

Anyone want to suggest a clean way to cut a square hole in the sheet metal, for the roller?

I'd have to pay a machine shop to do it. Good luck.

So, what other Atari games that didn't come in cabaret would be neat in cabaret what-if form?

You can try KLOV brothers BubbaK or Malice95, both of whom do metal work. Both have Plasma set-ups. You would need to ship to NJ.

This is a wicked idea and the art looks great.

But I can't wrap my head around how you're cramming the monitor in there sideways... How do you fit a 4 into a 3?!

Colonel,

I just did up a new panel from my MH. I used a Bosch jigsaw with a nice new metal cutting blade. Progressive teeth. Cut slow and straight.

...and yes, I did fit the monitor in the cab horizontally.

Sounds like he squeezed it in. I don't know which monitor he is using, but the tube itself does fit. The side flanges on a 6100 would need to be cut off. Very interested to see how he mounted it though.

Damn cool project.

@Brick Top - thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try.

As for mounting the monitor in the cab horizontally, it fits without the frame as someone already mentioned. I'm using a 6100. The rest will get mounted remotely on a custom shelf of some type, haven't made it that far yet. I test fit the monitor in the wood frame prior to painting up the cab, I didn't get a pic of that, but you can see the mount installed below.

Unfortunately I won't have time to work on this again until mid June - hoping the rest of the artwork will be here by then, right Rich? :)

Beautiful work on that cabinet. Who says a monitor needs a frame, right?

I am pretty sure I have seen B+W games where the monitor has no frame, just a tube and chassis.

That is going to be one cool game when you are done.

Beautiful work on that cabinet.

Yeah, dptwiz does some nice work. I could use that cab for all my Centipede cabaret parts that I have. One day I will replicate my Dig Dug cabaret. I have the sides cut out and that is it.

This Major Havoc cabaret idea is full of awesomeness. I can't wait to see the finished product.
