so i have a mad planets i'm restoring that was converted at one point. i have all the pieces to put it back together except for the lower cpo. they originally painted over it with black paint. i started taking off the paint and it's not in terribly bad condition. its just missing a small chunk on the right side. should i remove it all the way and hopefully one day a scan or repro artwork happens or remove all the paint and leave it as is?

i would leave what you have there, its better than nothing. until you can find a replacement, just live with it. i would?

i was leaning to keeping it on as well...i was thinking though once the machine is fully restored and a repro comes along after its going to be a bitch to remove it and get rid of all the glue residue.

I'd go the other way and remove it. I'd prep for a replacement one and call it a day. I would not want to deal with having to remove it later after I had the machine back together and the mess.

i agree bill, i remember trying to remove my qbert. the glue they used on these is unreal and extremely hard to remove

I don't see a reason to remove it.. Even if you have to repaint the whole front again if you get a repro, some art is better than no art...
