I have been on the look out for one of these fine machines and was wondering where the prices are at on them. Just got an offer thru CL to sell me a non-working one that seems over the top.

one came up for sale here early last year, working in decent shape, for $400 on CL... from what i remember it took a bit to sell and i have no idea what the final price was.

I'd buy one for $400 if it was working and in nice shape. When the market wasn't depressed they were selling in the $500 to $700 range, easily as they didn't appear very often. If you can get it for less than $400, go for it, very fun game.

Some things to look out for are the cardboard bezel, these like to absorb moisture. Lower cp artwork, what's the condition? Repro for this not available. Does it have the original joystick? Tough to find one if not...though I do know someone who repro'd the inserts for that joystick and might have a handful left...

Good luck.

Well I was offered one, non-working, no pics included for $800 + $75 to deliver it about 125 miles from me, as the dude is coming up here on business. I just thought that seemed way out of line, especially for non-working/ physical condition unknown. I know it's CL, but come on now.

Does this guy smoke an unusually large amount of crack?

Not a chance.

Mad Planets, complete and in good condition but not working (assuming it's not playing blind) bad boards and/or power supply, 300 bucks, maybe a little higher.

That's a LOT for a nonworking game, but Mad Planets is an outstanding player with great music and sounds.

I'd love to have one myself, but 7-800 nonworking is Crazytown.

It's not 2001 anymore Kids, with a million geeks fat on DotCom ca$h and hot for toyz.

If one turned up local, I would pay $300 for it in beater condition.

I've only played it a few times in MAME, and it is a great game.
My comment to my wife after getting my butt handed to me sans spinner - "Those planets aren't mad...they're PISSED!"

There was one selling locally here last year for $400. It looked like it had just come out of the original box.

I remember when the local arcade got one in all nice and new. It is a pretty cool game but gets old fast imo. I would pick a nice one up only if it was cheap, say $200. $800 is ridiculous for a non working one with no freaking pictures. Screw that clown.
