I have the option of picking up a Mad Dog McCree LaserDisc arcade machine. Here is what the seller says, "I have a Mad Dog McCree Arcade game, should say most of a Mad Dog McCree arcade game. Have the main cabinet with 36" monitor (which works) and has the LaserDisc player and Mad Dog MaCree Laserdisks, and all the boards. It powers up, monitor and and LD player but blank screen. That's about all I know."

Is it something worth looking at? Sounds like a beast of a move. Seller says he doesn't want much for it, just wants to get rid of it.

I will post pics as soon as I get them.

Thanks,
John

Laserdisc games are PITAs to work on. Mainly because Laser Disc players are no longer manufactured. I think i found a guy that will refurbish the player but it isn't cheap.

The ONLY thing I'd be nervous about is disc rot. The game is pretty worthless without a laser disc ;)

anyways I have all the laser games they released for PC to use in my MAME machine. These types of games got old REALLY quick. My .02

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. May pass on this one unless it is super cheap and then it might be a good MAME cabinet.

So no "ka-chink" noises? No CPU text on screen?
Could just be the power supply, then. Up to you
if you want to take the gamble. ALG games are
pretty fun, compared to the pure memorization
of moves in the animated games DL/SA/SDQ/etc.

Great game. I love LD games probably just me but they are fun. My son and I play MD on the Wii all the time. His favorite game. Grab it if it is cheap. Fun to work on and get up and running. LD games intact will be gone soon they get no love. My son rocks on Dragons Lair also.

Seems like spare discs would be easy to find for this game, compared to the rare titles. Also, a player can be fixed, like any of this arcade stuff. I remember it being in the local Aladdin's Castle way back when. If you have the space and the price is right, I think it would be an interesting piece.

Hell, I have 3 extra Amiga 500 motherboards for this game too... and some other smaller boards.

No power supply though. It uses a standard Commodore Amiga 500 power supply which you should be able to find on eBay.

Nice. I can help if you are having Mad Dog issues. I am pretty familiar with ALG games. Get some pics!

I have a Mad Dog McCree as well. You can get the ALG Multi-Rom and other LDs and play all the ALG games in it. I also have side art for the big cabinet if you need it.

Whats the going rate for this game?

Good question. It is one of those games that isn't of high value unless the right person wants it. I would say 200-300 hundred to the average person, 300-500 for someone who really wants one. They can be hard to find complete and harder to find working.
