Just got back from a trip up to Northern Michigan and one of the spots I had to visit was Mackinac Island. I always enjoy spending time there there and around the lakes. Anyway, of course I had to check out their arcade. I'm currently working on restoring a Simpsons and the last time I was at Mackinac Island they had one there. Sure enough as I approached the arcade I could hear the familiar attract mode sounds from the Simpsons. A few other interesting items include the Star Trek cockpit converted to Choplifter.

Damn I was just in Mackinaw before the 4th. The weather was shitty so we didn't go over to the island it would have made the trip a little more worth while. My wife would have been able to shop without me rushing her and my boys and I would have been happy. I will keep it in mind for next time.

dude....wtf???

all the years i was dragged there, had to ride a damn bike around(no cars allowed there), had to avoid all the horse poop, the parents never got a hotel with a damn tv, and your telling me theres an arcade there???

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

oh the humanity!!

So where on the island is the arcade?

I can't recall the exact location offhand, but of course it's in the main downtown area with all the shops. It's on the side of the street closest to the lake and on the second floor. I think the building has lockers on the ground floor and in that case I believe it should be right by the Star Line ferry dock.

There's also a smaller arcade right near one of the docks but I only glanced inside for a second and saw nothing that personally interested me and certainly no classics.

Even the hotel I stayed in had a small arcade in the pool room (humidity in there not good for the games I'm sure). They have a Burgertime in there that plays but has graphics glitches and no sound.

Fudge place? We were just there. I didn't see any stinking fudge shops.... Found that arcade though. West end of the Island upstairs at the Star Line Ferry Dock.

I dont' remember the arcade either... well , I remember seeing it .. but didn't go in..

yeah.. that simpsons... cab I prob SHOULD have got ! :)

I do need to get working on my restore... try to get that black paint off the art... and get the working board in it.. and swap a 25" monitor from antoher game into it.. (hate taking monitors from working games tho)

Whenever I see posts about arcades..you always see poor maintenance of games. If the owners would keep the games running better they might make a little more money..but they just let stuff get run down...because they are cheap. I have contacted many arcades and ops and offered repair help but they never take me up on it.
