getting ready to cap my m5000 b@w monitor in my si dx cab since bobs cap kit does not include the replacment caps for this can cap i am wondering what this large cap does for the monitor and what the likely hood is that i will need totrack down the caps neededto replace it

thanks

my monitor symptoms were low brightness and eventually it had bleed all over the monitor

C32A: filters the +73 volts
C32B: main filter from diodes D16-D19
C32C: horizontal oscillator
C32D: filters the +150 volts to video output circuit

cool thanks ken seems like i should be ok then without replacing tha can cap (hopefully )
my volages were checkin out fine on the chassis
guess there is only one way to find out lol

also one more ?
he yoke on my monitor seemed to be floating are these b@w monitors spsed to have shims or silcone to hold the yoke steady

any other components should look at while i have it out

shoot after pulling the chassis i found a sticker that says kv700a is this the same as a m5000 i matched up 2 of the caps and they seem to be the proper uf and volts and the chassis looks just like the pic on bobs site im i still good with using this cap kit

it must be a diffrent model #(mabey midways #)for the m5000
as my chassis is id to the one on bobs page and all caps and locations lined up right

got her done and weee my si dx lives again

got one more well mabey a few more ? the monitor still dosent project verry well on the half silverd mirror i have cleaned bolth the mirror and monitor and finaly removed the colored film (with the film removed the game is playable)

i just grabbed a rejuv on ebay do you think shooting the tube will brighten it more or are there other components on these b@w monitors that i need to look into

ill need to ask a few ? on my rejuv also ill do so in my rejuv thread

The KV700A is a slightly (factory) modified M5000....same cap kit.

I've got a small NOS stash of those can caps...$12 shipped in the USA if anyone needs any.
