for my jungle king resto project i got a wiring harness which has been modified for use with a switching power supply. however, i'm having problems hooking it up - especially one connector!

have a look at the following picture: it shows a part of the harness coming OFF the filter board. i've circled the red and the white wires on the two V1 connectors because this is where the problem starts!

the red wires end in "switcher connectors" and the manual lists those red wires as +5V - no problem here.

however, those white wires also end in a "switcher connector" and the manual says WHITE = M RESET! M WHAT??? never heard of M RESET! how / where do i have to connect this to the switcher?

i need some input, guys :)

I always say:
* Master reset needs to be tied low AT the board
(it may be routed through an inverter on the RF board)

Others have said that it needs to be pulsed for a certain duration on power up.

I have never had problems with it tied to the switching supply in my Jungle King cabinet. and it's been there a LONG LONG time.

Finally, another clue that my Elevator Action cabaret was a Jungle King / Jungle Hunt at some point. I've got this button; pressing it kills the power.

There's no button.

It's just a pin on the edge connector that resets the board on power-up.

Tie it to +5V. If that doesn't work, tie it to ground.

Here is what is in the Jungle Hunt manual:
jhunt.pdf said:
E. RESET CIRCUIT
The reset circuit will output a 2sec active low MRST pulse at J3-14 when the power is first turned ON and whenever power fails for more than 35ms.
The reset circuitry is comprised of a dual timer....

It's called POWER-ON-RESET G-7 in the schematics.

I wouldn't call it a sense line- a sense line is part of a feedback loop for voltage regulation.
