I get the game home Friday and play a bunch of games *20-30ish* and the left flipper rubber pops... The right side was about to pop so I replaced both of them Sunday and played a few games. I get home tonight and the right flipper rubber is broken again!!

Anyone ever have this issue? I've never had a flipper rubber break, but the rubbers are red and the guy said the ones he gave me he uses on bally/williams games... Are DE game flippers bigger?

DE flippers use the exact same rubbers.

Possibilities:

1. The rubbers are old and break easily. Rubber does not age well. Hard to tell by just looking at them. Even "new" rubber may have been sitting in a warehouse for years, or stored improperly.

2. There is a sharp area somewhere on the flipper bat that is cutting them

3. Are you stretching them out too much before/while putting them on?

4. One or more of the balls has pitted/scratched surfaces. Are the balls new?

Just my guesses.

Oh, one last thing I remember, some aftermarket flipper rubbers are total crap. I had a friend that got some bright green and purple flipper rubbers to match colors on his Batman Forever and CV respectively and they lasted about 50 games before splitting in half at the flipper bat narrow end.

I get all of my rubber from Pinballlife.

The balls are good so that's not the issue.

I'm going to order a complete rubber kit soon for a good shop job on it, but was trying to play it before that happened as everything else is good.

Can't say I've seen that happen, but again, all mine have come from PBL as well, so I may not really be offering any different opinion than Russ here. And my Stargate is using some really gnarly nasty Gottlieb/Premiere flippers. I put green rubbers on them because it's all I had..the others were literally falling apart in the machine. They seem to be holding up okay.

Here's another odd rubber-related thing... STTNG only has like 5 rubber rings on it, and pretty much everything else is a crapton of post sleeves!
