LV2000 Or LV6100 - Where do order and which to get?

Ok, I see a few different places that I can Paypal to get an LV2000. I'm not sure if they are all still valid though....so where's the best source for these? Or should I be looking at an LV6100? Is that even still around?

Recommendations?

Thanks!

John

LV6100 is made by Speath. His is a little better imo as no adjusting is necessary, but trying to track him down is the issue.

LV2000 is essentially the same animal and can be purchased through any of the sources you probably already found.

From what I've read, I like his better also. But will he actually send it? Does he really have any now? Will it take forever to get it? Will it be worth it if I have to wonder about all that?

But will he actually send it?

In my experience, yes.

Does he really have any now?

Probably, but only he can answer that.

Will it take forever to get it?

Depends on his schedule.

Will it be worth it if I have to wonder about all that?

That is something only you should decide and depends upon your time table.

Either way, they both do the same thing and there is plenty of documentation on how to install them. It is all a matter of personal preference. I know I have 3 LV6100s on hand for my future projects as when he was selling them a few months ago I ordered them knowing I would need them. :)

I bought the LV2000 for my tempest about a month ago from:

http://www.vector-repair.com/

Paid using pay pal and got it about a week later. Installed it and I'm happy with the results. Yes, you do have to make some voltage adjustments on the LV2000 but it's real easy if your handy with a multimeter. Instructions were easy to follow too.

Ok cool. I e-mailed Mark. If I hear back from him pretty soon I may order from him. Otherwise I'll order from vector-repair. Thanks!

For the record, I've never had any negative dealings with Mark. I was simply asking because there seems to have been some controversy regarding him and wanted to be sure before placing an order.

I just didn't get a reply when I asked if they were available. So I ordered with people who _do_ answer their e-mail.

It's a shame. I love Mark's SW/ESB kit. And I call me VERY lucky to own one....

The reason I posted my clarification is because Mark e-mailed me and said that I was defaming him with my post. There was no intention to do so. It was simply asking a question because I thought I remembered there being some communication issues. He said he won't deal with me now anyway so I guess it's a moot point. But I just wanted to be clear that I was not trying to say anything negative....I was simply doing "market research" and probably could have phrased it better.

If anyone is defaming Mark it is Mark himself.

Really I never had any problems with him but he's been ignoring my e-mails and PM's for too long now.

Wah, wah, wah...

How many times do you expect to say "they're not ready yet, and I'll post when they are?"

Do you also piss and moan and post negative comments when you go to a store that's closed and they won't let you in to buy stuff?

The real problem is that it seems they never are ready. Or you never bother to e-mail back when they are.
Like the Nintendo switchers
Like the ZZPU's.

It's a shame because the cash was ready, but I bought a LV2000 once again yet. And it works great.

I got an LV6100 a couple days ago after he posted an ad in the for sale section - it was a smooth transaction.
My Space Duel came with an LV2000, but I heard Mark's was better so I'm going to put his in my Tempest.

Marks is by far superior in design and pretty much idiot proofed (insert and go) and only time will tell the tale about longevity. But going as far as to say Marks is better .... end result is the same and I wouldn't waste my time pulling it out. If it works leave it alone.
As I said before - I simply sent a Paypal payment without even talking to MArk and received the item about a wekk later.

Did the LV2000 die?

No, the LV2000 in my Space Duel is working fine. My Tempest did not have an LV kit in it (or so I thought - see pics), so I picked up one of Mark's when I saw he had them for sale. The Tempest was working fine, I just wanted to to do a little preventive maintenance.

I just installed the LV6100 in my Tempest and it was a snap. Of course, most of the components had already been removed - looks like someone took a crack at a rudimentary version already.

Aww... so I missed the chance to jump through hoops and fill out custom forms to sell a measley $30 item... damn. That's just going to ruin my weekend.

Mmmm, funny, you didn't mention that when I ordered 3 (THREE) SW/ESB kits for 175 each, totaling to a pretty nice 525 dollars plus a Nintendo adapter board about a year back......

Well this time indeed it was "only" a 30 dollar board, a board that contains, what about for 5 bucks in parts (TOPS).

Who knows, maybe I would have wanted to order other stuff in more quantities another time, but since you're clearly not interested in any international business I say, you can shove your kits up your ass !
