Lutz Play Again - 2nd annual meet up in the Little Shop of Quarters

It's that time of year again...time to brave the bitter cold in January and get together to hang out.

What: Open invite to hang out at STG's place
When: Saturday, January 26th, 2012, 3pm-?
Who: anyone! Bring a friend!
Why: to meet, network, play, visit, share stories, bullshit, hang out, whatever
Where: My place, in Osceola, WI. 40 minutes from Minneapolis / St Paul.

This is the Saturday of the weekend BEFORE superbowl weekend, so there shouldn't be any major conflicts with party plans.

Last year's event was pretty fun, and I've got several new games in the arcade to play with this year.

The current game lineup:

* Ms Pac Man
Double Dragon
Karate Champ
Donkey Kong
* Neo Geo 1 Slot with 138 in 1.
Star Wars / ESB upright multi
Arkanoid 2: The Revenge of Doh
Asteroids Deluxe
* Dig Dug Multi
Rolling Thunder (MAME cab)
* Playchoice-10 (with 2600's Nes adapter, and hopefully a powerpak)
Firepower
Pinbot
* Red Tent (Wrecking Crew, or Super Mario Bros / Castlevania)
* Touchscreen juke / Touchmaster game

With any luck, I'll also get the Bally KISS pin up and running too, depending how lucky I get with my repairs. It may or may not be ready for the party.

In the downstairs family room, we'll have a PS2 set up with several of the Guitar Hero games, and upstairs we'll have an Atari 2600 going on the 42" Plasma. Lots of fun stuff to play with everywhere.

I'll be serving a big crock pot of Sloppy Joes, salads, and chips/salsa all night. I will also have most of the mixers and ice you need to mx your own drinks. Bring your own booze or beer, otherwise there's a liquor store 3 blocks from my house, you can easily stop in and get what you need on your way here. If you have any other snacks you're interested in, let me know and I'll be happy to oblige.

I have 5 bedrooms, 3 couches, and 2 air mattresses to put people up - feel free to stay overnight and drive home on Sunday morning if you want. I have TONS of space. I'll be shipping the kiddos off to Grandma and Grandpas for the night, so after 5 or 6pm, we'll be kid-free and can turn up the music :)

Feel free to drop in whenever you want, stay for as long or short as you want. If you drink while you're here, I'll ask that you have a plan in place ahead of time. No drunk driving away from my house - I can't live with that on my conscience.

610 Summit St, Osceola, WI 54020. PM me for my phone number if you wanna give me a call. RSVP here, via PM, or call. Whatever works for you.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you there on Saturday.

I hope to make it this time. Wifey wants to come too. I'll let you know soon.

We'd LOVE to have you both, John. I know I've met your wife, but I don't remember her name, sorry. We'll be glad to have you. I have Shawn and Beth in one spare bedroom, if you and the wife come we'll put you up in another one.

That would be wonderful. I am looking forward to this one fo sho.

Should be a great time to get together and just share stories and laugh. My best memories from past gatherings have not really been from playing the games, rather visiting with everyone.

I've already alerted my wife that there will be at least 4 other women coming, so we'll have a good mix of people. Should be fun.

Bump. Just a little over a week until things get started. I've spent the past few weeks putting some finishing touches on some of the games in the arcade to make sure they'll work properly.

The touchscreen jukebox is nearly done - I just need to mount the monitor to the wall.

I had a small setback this week, as the bar table I wanted arrived and I was not happy with it. So back it goes. Bummer. I may not find something before next weekend.

Got a call from the old folk's home in Arizona - it appears the authorities have located Chris25810 and are trying to calm his dementia down enough to allow him to attend. We'll see if they can administer enough Haldol to get him here.

TACO BAR!!! And, would you mind if I brought my DK 4 board along for you to look at? It froze up over the weekend. I am done trying to figure it out.

This is awesome! I am trying to make it.

Excellent! Please spread the word - I have lots of room, lots of food, and there will be lots of fun.

My bar table set DID arrive today, so we should be all ready for the touch screen jukebox and touchmaster game.

I made two gallons of Chex mix today. Yummy.

2 days, folks! I just spent last night preparing over 10 pounds of taco meat.

Tonight I'll test run all the games again, just to make sure everything is working OK. I'm also going to clear some workspace in my workshop, so we can do some repairs in the afternoon if we want.

I pre-inflated all of my air mattresses and laundered all of my bedding this week. We are currently a pet-free home (1 year now) so there shouldn't be any allergy issues. We are also smoke free.

My mobile number is 715-417-two-zero-nine-seven for those of you who need my number to update me on arrival time or call with questions.

I'm set up to sleep 2+2+1+1+1+1+1 on couches and air mattresses, and my daughters' bedrooms are on standby if we get full. Phetishboy and Beth are in the downstairs guest room, everyone else will have access to the downstairs family room, upstairs family room, and rec area.

The fireplace downstairs should keep things nice and toasty.

I have dual bathrooms upstairs and one downstairs, and two showers.

Sunday morning I'm serving breakfast - eggs, hashbrowns and since my uncle owns a meat market in town, secret recipe pork sausage and locally grown thick cut bacon - it's to die for.

Of course you health nuts can have fruit and granola. My wife is a certified Personal Trainer and Naturopathic Lifestyle Educator, so we always have plenty of non-heart exploding foods in the house too. :D
