KLOV lists a 79 vintage Lunar Rescue. Its color. This guy is definitely b/w. There is also a 73 Sega with very little info. The entry looks more like a place holder. My game does not have a manufacturers name on it that I can find. Admittedly I have not opened it up to actually look at the board. Given the obvious knock off Battlestar Galactica graphics I doubt its Sega or any other above board company. At first we thought it was a space invaders boot but after cleaning off the CP I am thinking its more like a b/w raster Lunar Landed type of game. Any one know anything about it?

Elcon Industries made a game called Cosmic Attackers in a cabinet very similar to this. Perhaps this was a kit to fit into one of those mini cabs?

I would say Elcon made the cab. Given the dead on ripped off SI art on Cosmic Attackers I'm thinking copyrights were not a concern.

Hey, thats a cool cabinet. The ships are clearly taken from the original version of Battlestar Galactica. Would love to see the game graphics.

Neat find - I'd keep it just for the artwork.

I actually passed it over a few times, but glad I was prodded by a friend into getting it. At this point I'm pretty well resigned to keeping it.

Looking at the CPO in the picture it says landing pad is 50-150 points so I would assume that it is the Taito game. Why it is in that cabinet I don't know it might be a European cab. I have the game on my 8-1 Braze Space Invaders kit and it's pretty fun.

To be honest I assumed it was different from the Taito game since it was color and this is b/w. After actually reading the description it looks like there is a lander aspect to the Taito game. So, is the Taito game color or b/w with overlays? I know klov can be incorrect from time to time. This game does have overlays on the the tube from what I can see through the tint.

I posted some pics/info in the other Lunar Rescue thread, but a regular Taito Lunar Rescue has a color monitor, not just overlays. The whole screen goes red when you crash. It looks like Moon Lander, which is a bootleg of Lunar Rescue (jeffsgames has one), is monochrome though.

There was some other Space themed game that I saw at oregonarcade's shop once. It also had Galactica style ships on it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't this one. It was in a generic Sega style cocktail IIRC.

That is one of the coolest and cheesiest looking arcade cabs I have ever seen! Weird finds like that are amazing. I'd love to own one. If you can get if for a good price, go for it!

To top it off, the game is Lunar Rescue. How cool! :)

It's already safe in my garage. That is actually where I took the pic from the first post.
