Lunar Lander PCB (stop laughing)

Bump. This list is more for my own sake, but I have checked with the following folks thus far:

Atari Force (none in his pile)

Braido (had dupes in past but no longer has them)

VectorCollector (has dupes but not yet ready to unload, and that is totally OK)

Zud (none in his pile)

If anyone thinks of any other members who have one lying around, please let me know. Plan B is to buy the repro board, but with ~5k machines produced, I'm going to wait out plan B until 2026.

I'm cracking up at your thread title!!

They only released under 5K LL games? Did it bomb that badly in arcades at the time?
The replay value wasn't there. Some were flipped to Asteroids games with a new CP, bezel and a conversion for the board.

If you love it, you love it. If you don't, well, you don't.

It didn't necessarily bomb. Asteroids was released right after it and was an instant hit. Atari redirected to produce 50k Asteroids machines to meet demand, and even some Lunar Lander machines on the assembly line even got repurposed for Asteroids.

LL ended up going to the dark side of the Moon.

Edit: was typing at same time as ATGW

I mind melded with another KLOVer and they suggested @jags11. I have cast a level 15 clerical spell and summoned him. We'll see what happens.

There's also a moon mission in Feb, maybe I can ask those folks to check the surface for me 😆

And now, a limerick:

There once was a guy in the East,
Who needed a board for his beast.
The game, Lunar Lander,
Had delusions of grandeur,
But couldn't launch without the piece.

I'm trying to find an OEM one but may get the repro one in the new year. You know damn well someone has one sitting on their workbench under a stack of dusty bootleg boards 😆
