Not sure what is wrong i checked the volts, checked the Power supply with another that i know is good, and same with the reg board, tried two that i know are ok, re-seated the chips, still no luck. Hoping it just needs a re-cap?

Thanks guys,

1:04 am bump before website goes down for scheduled maint........help..... LOL

I can't see any lines in that video. But, if I had to take a guess you have it turned up just a BIT to bright and you're seeing the retrace lines?

Try bumping the brightness down a smidge and that should get rid of any retrace lines you might be seeing. It's really tempting to turn the monitors up nice and bright, but they can only go so far before you start to see those lines.

It was when I was testing an unknown CRT.

The CRT was weak, and failed on a sencore Tester, so in an attempt to get a bright signal I went too far on the brightness.

The solution I tried was using a different CRT screen

Gotcha, ok well i am still down but hope to work on it tonight. I'll see what monitor is in it and post that and go from there.

thx

looks to be a monitor issue

which monitor do you have?

Yo Dokert, sorry for the late reply. Been coaching my kids hockey :) i took a look at the monitor today and it's a G05 801. I noticed that the caps on the Chassis have glue on the bottom of them. I have only seen this on ones that have never been capped??? Hopefully this is all it needs?

Thanks,

Braido...

I've been wondering about this...

How much grease to use? Would too much inhibit the flow of electricity?

I know my springs have corrosion and have cleaned them, so how important is the grease? Do you apply the grease to the ends of the Diode?

Thanks!
