My Lunar Lander has REV 1 roms. When I put it on free play it will only give me 900 units of fuel, basically I can try to land 2-3 times before I run out of fuel and end the game.

I was reading about the Lunar Lander REV 2 roms. On free play you get 1800 units of fuel. Is anyone using he REV 2 roms in there Lander?

Does anyone know if REV 2 roms can work in the REV 1 PCB??
Does anyone know someone who can burn me these roms??

If this site is correct it looks like only 3 of the roms are different.

Can you use the ones in MAME maybe?

I think I have found the files on the internet, but dont have the equpment to burn them to a chip. From what Im reading so far its the same PCB just different Roms. I need to talk with some other lander owners to confirm.

Check out the manual and you'll see that it tells you exactly what chips go where for Rev-1 and Rev-2. Here's the PDF, though some pages are very hard to read:

Check out page 41 of the manual (44 of the PDF file) for info on their "Memory Chip Equivelants" and page 36 of the manual (39 of the PDF file) has a diagram of the PCB with detailed notes (if you can find a way to read them) on which chips go where. So by the looks of things, swapping between versions is more a matter of plugging in the right chips into the right places than having a certain PCB to begin with.

Hope this helps...

Dan,

I should be able to burn them for you...

Cool im trying to decide if I need it now. i was messing around last night and here is what I found.

What I discovered last night is interesting. 900 units of fuel is the highest setting, and it is what you get when you set on freeplay. There is also a setting for number of credits per quarter. 6 is the highest. so thats 6x900 units of fuel. So if I leave it on free play that gives me 900 units, if I want a longer playing game. I put in 1 quarter it gives me 5400 units of fuel on top of the 900. That makes for a good long game. 6300 units.
