Well, I dont know if I would consider my self a typical klov tightass just becasue I am not going to pay that much for a non working game. Well, lets see a working lunar lander for that price or a non working game with unkown problems for the same price? I just dont see where your comment typical klov tightass fits in with that

There have been several auctions in recent weeks that have ended at prices way beyond what the typical KLOV tightass would ever consider paying. Let these auctions be a lesson to you guys that "just can't believe it" that this forum has very little bearing on the "value" of games.

I agree 100%. I am surprised it went for that much though. I did not get it. I stopped at $600. I got beat on the BZ by $20 also. Should have went more on the BZ. I was not going to pay that much for the NW LL though. Someone wanted it bad it seems.

Yeah, I sold one fairly recently to a KLOVer for around $700 working but I had two. Maybe I should list my other one. Sold one at CAX a few years ago that was working in so so shape for $1k.

The game was in nice condition and it sounded like it was a monitor issue which is easy to fix. Typical klov tight ass will offer you $20 shipped for a board that costs $20 to ship or they may complain that a rare game doesn't work making it worth only $100 to them.

Ok, so you're not typical but you are certainly in the minority here. The big question here is did a forum member buy it at that price? I doubt it.

Humm...I have a near perfect LL with all matching #'s..PS has been repaired and the board is the only issue now...with other projects going on..maybe I should think of unloading it?

MY way of thinking is this:

Like many people on the forums going to the old operators and they have "no idea" what things are worth, a lot of people on here have "no idea" what things are worth either. I still have a guy locally telling me games are worth very little money because of prices he paid back in the 90s for them coming off trucks when arcades were closing left and right.

The value of games are determined by local/collectible/KLOV and eBay.

eBay is the absolute maximum on certain games, but some games fetch more locally.

Ms. Pac-Mans/Galagas all sell well locally or retail, but Lunar Lander HAS to be eBayed because people do NOT know what it is. I honestly wish more people on these forums were not as stubborn as the old operators themselves and understand this.

Hey someone really wanted it bad...and they had over $1000 to spend on it. I hope they are happy. All it takes is 2 people to make an auction go crazy. Factor in a few more and you end up with some really whacked out final prices.

Was it someone here? Kinda don't think so....but if it was congrats!
