What's everyone's favorite Multi-Pac mod kit? I love my 16 in 1, and I've been having a blast with it. With that said, I've sure Mark Spaeth's kit is great, as well as Doyle's 96 in 1.
Who has what? And, why do you enjoy it as much as you do?

I have Doyle's card, in an Eyes. It's conceptually very cool, but has some graphics weirdness that Mike hasn't been able to troubleshoot thus far. Also resetting the game when the "fire" button is pressed is hard to explain to guests...

I'm curious as to which kits people prefer as well. I just got my Ms. Pac-Man running and I've been trying to figure out which path to go. Considered just grabbing a cheap score save kit from eBay but also eyeing something like the HSS Multigame. I'd love a cheaper kit, but we know those 6-in-1s fly in the sale thread here.

Clay's MultiPAC kit.

96 in 1 for me.

The more games the better in my opinion. And yeah it has it's known flaws, but I've owned one for as long as he's been making them so I can live with that.

I run mine in my Jamma cab with an adapter and a 6 in 1 switcher along with the Galaxian 19 in 1 multi, Namco Classics Vol 1 and Vol 2, and two Bit Kits so I can run every ROM they support. All vertical games.

Kicks ass!

:)

For the "Multi-Pac," I currently go with BitKit. It gets me what I need in a stable fashion. It isn't original Pac hardware, but, with the FPGA approach, it looks, feels and sounds really close. I had a 96-1 and I didn't like that you couldn't boot to a single game (you have to boot to the menu). Every now and then I want my Pac-Man to just be a "straight up" Pac-Man.

I really want to go the BitKit route just to add some additional games to the cab like Crush Roller (thanks Fygar) but I feel guilty knowing the Pac PCB is just going to be sitting there pushed to the side unused.

Had an older Doyle kit, 2.0 I think. Fine kit, but there were too many nit-picky things about for me - colors were wrong, Pac plus has a blue maze, patterns were not always accurate. Not sure if these have been fixed in 2.5x but they were there in 2.0. I didn't care for the dozens and dozens of maze variations either.

Switched it out for a High Score Saves Multipac kit, and while it is not quite perfect either, it is pretty darn close! Colors are right, patterns are pretty spot on. I LOVE the fact that I can boot directly into a game! That one thing sold me right off the bat. You can't with the Doyle kit

However, I found Doyle's to be much more stable. My machine hangs on the game menu screen in the HSS kit and I have to turn it on and off again. Despite that, I am happier with HSS.

A plus for Doyle's is it has a burn in protector. I miss that in the HSS kit, but I have the game sound set to 25% in attract mode, and the noise forces me to shut it off if I forgot I left it on.

That said, I don't want sound like I'm under selling Doyle's 96... it is a VERY good kit and many people probably wouldn't bat an eyelash at all the stuff I see. I am an annoying Pac purist!
