DOOM'D linked to this in his thread, but I thought it deserved more recognition.

Im seriously speechless, I just cant think of anything to say right now, Ill be back after i wash my eyes with bleach

wow, look what somebody with too much time, money and lack of originality did -- a steampunk mame console w/ non-integrated LCD display.

"Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should."

yes, a lot of work went into this and it's gonna be on craigslist
the beginning of next year for $3799!

I mean, c'mon, how comfortable is it to play using the upper tier
controllers? the builder obviously did this for internet fame.

Ok Im back
It looks as if an electric elf on acid humped a wurlitzer in a gypsy's closet

WHY would you need TWO trackballs? This is a truly SICK individual...

+1 for the pinball plunger tho

It looks like something you'd stumble upon in a game of Myst, and have to find the right button combo to move on...

No respect for the effort.

(Sorry; I'm a bad person. Kill ME with fire.) :D

!!#!###!#!!!#!#////#!#!!!#!# would that work?

It looks like someone slaughtered a small organ and taxidermied the remains with wiring and LEDs. More of a woodworking project than a mame project.

HAHAHA that's great. I agree.

With that said though, they didn't destroy anything to make this. So good for them. I don't see the problem.

That's funny, Yaggy. Steampunk was exactly my first thought. This is what arcade machines would look like if Jules Verne started Atari instead of Bushnell.

If they managed to incorporate an old ass 10" black and white tubed monitor from the 50's I'd have been more impressed.

As it stands... it's not for me, but I recognize the HUGE amount of work that went in to it. It has some pretty damn fine details going on... the speakers are awesome IMHO... it's just not for me.

EDIT: I just watched the video... pfft... total FAIL with all the LED shit. That kills the theme BIGTIME.

Exactly. When you're doing something like this, stick to the theme as closely as possible.

I think it's pretty bad ass. Reminds me of an H.G. Wells/Time Machine contraption.

It looks like they ransacked a church and made some bastardized contraption out of the alter and one of the pews.
