Gentlemen,
We have a local pinball arcade here in Fargo and he has a great lineup of games (e.g., WOZ, TZ, STTNG, FH, TAF, etc.) however, I cannot get enough of JunkYard. I just love that game. It probably helps that my wife enjoys playing it too, because we typically do not agree on pin preferences. That said, it is a great (yet slightly less known about) title. I actually did not know anything about this pin until I played it for the first time at this arcade. Good times and you should give it a chance if you come across one.

Its a fun pin and a very nice looking pin when clean and LED'd nicely....I owned one for a while. I liked the idea of collecting items etc. Ultimately it was just too quirky and I couldn't get into it deeply enough to keep it around...

I think that is a very fair assessment, and honestly, the quirkiness is one of the things that attracts me to it. :D
Thanks for the post buddy.

Can someone please sell me on Junkyard, if you don't mind? I played one at my buddy's dad's place and it just seemed boring. However, I can't vouch that he kept the table in decent shape so perhaps pieces were missing hence it seemed so dull?

Do you just hit the wrecking ball and hope it hits stuff? That seems to be basically it, unless I'm missing something.

I see it is available as DLC on the Pinball Arcade but I chose not to buy it based on my real machine experience. If it's good, if you kind folks can convince me, I'll definitely buy it.

Junkyard doesn't lack things to do. There are a ton of things to achieve and the rules are pretty deep. IMO things are a little disjointed and I could never get into a groove on it...here's the rule sheet

How much is it on DLC? Have you thought about a kick starter to help pay for it? :)

I love Junk Yard! The theme is a touch odd and takes a little getting used to, but when I did it's an absolute blast. Very surreal and it's beautiful to look at, as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe not for everyone, but I'm a believer. Would love to have one.

I've never played a real one but it just came out for PS3 on TPA this week and I've been playing it a lot the last few days. I really like this one the more I play it.

GREAT under rated and often overlooked pin. A little playtime on the machine to learn the rules and it's a blast. Not one you walk up to and learn quickly. First time I made it to the outer space battle it was a trip! VERY cool part was incorporating other pins into the game. If I remember, there were references to Creature, Addams Family, and Attack from Mars in the game.

You collect certain pieces of "junk" via various shots to build items to use in video modes and to complete the game. The wrecking ball does not hit anything directly, but you do have to aim for it for to access multiball and jackpots. The video modes are great and I think the art package is fantastic. I went into the game without knowing anything about it and I am glad that I did. Here is an video describing it in more detail.

JunkYard is the first pin I ever bought and doubt i would ever sell. Like the theme of it and when you get into the game, video modes you will notice that they come from other Williams pins like Adams family, creature from the black lagoon, couple others hence the name junk yard. Had it at a Pin tournament and certainly got lots of love there. like the no bumpers for it.

Great game.

Kinda like how Elvira's Scared Stiff has references to Creature from the Black Lagoon, Who Done It, etc? That's cool.

I might just give Junkyard a second try.

Please do. It is worth it. :)
