I'm not at home right now where my game is, but I've got a very good resource close by for a lot of hard-to-find bayonet bulbs (can't find them in car parts shops out here anymore). I'm not sure what to ask for, though.

Anyone know what voltage / type bulbs are used in the marquee & instruction panel area?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but did you ever get an answer to this?

I've got one that needs new bulbs for the Marquee and Bezel area, but I can't figure out what type they are.

The #47's are the bulbs used for illuminating the control panel start buttons. But the ones for the marquee and monitor bezel top-area are different in shape. They are slightly bigger and more round.

I can't seem to find any information on the cabaret/mini's in the manuals I have. I guess I can meter the voltage to those connections, but I was hoping someone here knows off the top of their head what bulbs these are, and save me the trouble.

I'll see take a picture of them to show you what they look like.

As i recall robotron mini original marquees were #47s or #44s - 44s are ideal since they are brighter (but burn hotter / take more power). They are bayonet style - which are the kind that have the solid metal circular bases.

If you are thinking of the "wedge" type - the one with the glass bases - those are 161 / 194s (194s burn hotter). But i dont think the header marquee uses those - only coin door lights for Midway / Ballys use them.

I tested the voltage, got 6.3 V.A.C. But looking up the 555's, I noticed they're wedge bulbs. These bulbs I have are Bayonet style, like so:

I found a small indentation of a number on the bayonet base, it read 455. But, #455 bulbs are a auto-blinking type. So someone must have put the wrong bulbs in at some point, 'cause I'm sure they didn't come stock with a blinking bulb.

If they are bayonet lug, then you need either 44's or 47's as previously mentioned by someone else above.

I ended up putting the 47's in the marquee, bezel and coin door. I kept the blinking 555's in the control panel for the Player start buttons. After replacing fuse #2 on the power supply it all lit up nicely.
