The dedicated CP is actually two (rhymes with Do!) pieces of rounded plastic/plexi that is screenprinted on the back with the graphics (much like a marquee). Those two pieces are then adhered to the metal CP. Here's a good pic that shows what the original looks like:

So far I don't know of anyone who has ever reproed the CP pieces. If so, I have a bare metal CP that is waiting for them![]()
That cabinet looks more like a Mr Do! with a different CP.
Here is a Cosmic Avenger:

?????
Yer silly. I converted it myself:

I traded the CA marquee to Billyboy for a Galaga topper, and I still have the CA bezel:

Which I found out through a happy accident was actually blacklight reactive:

He did a great job on the vector repro, but I don't think he ever found anyone to produce it (not enough interest). I'm not sure what the process is for making or cutting the plastic pieces, but they look gorgeous when finished -- and they're beveled at the edges to.Jeff Rothe from Indianapolis has vectorized the artwork. I don't know if he's actually reproduced it yet or not.

The diamond won't appear until all the apples have dropped.
Why not just print it on translite or vinyl and put some clear plexi on top?
Wow, that's beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen that CP.
The number of dropped apples has nothing to do with whether the diamond comes out. It's based on a random number generator. On "easy", it's 1/512. On "hard", it's 1/2048. Here's the code analysis for it, and how to guarantee one (you have to power off the machine first to do it):

I love this game but Universal failed big time on the cabinet artwork. Compared to most of the other Universal game cabs, this one sucks.
For me it's authenticity. I won't be happy until I have it with both of the pieces on the metal CP. I know, I know... I should stop being so picky![]()
A bootleg of this game is known as "Mr. Lo!" and another is called "Mr. Du!".

You need a Mr. Lo! to go with Big Kong.
I bought a non-dedicated Mr. Du! from SRW a while back. I didn't even notice it was Du! until it was home.![]()

That's mine... You should see what it looks like now... Polished the hell out of the Formica (more like screened to the cabinet and then painted clear coat IMO) for Novus and used Novus on the CP / CPO's (Novus isn't just for plastic...)...
Hoping to have this baby fired up in the next few days (even tonight) ... Just pray the replacement working toei chassis works!

New pics a comin'?![]()
Beveled edges would be the main reason, not to mention that Jeff owns the artwork so printing a one-off translite might not be practical cost-wise, depending on what he expects.
The only thing I can figure is that it was somehow heat stamped and it made the edges thinner than the rest. However it was done is very impressive and now that I've seen it up close on a Cosmic Guerrilla CP piece I can't think of having it any other way. I'd definitely be in for those as well if they're completed.I talked to Jeff and Rich about doing this. I think the issue is dealing with the plastic - particularly making the beveled edges. It also sounds like Jeff no longer has interest in driving this project and he wants a cut of whatever profits exist from whoever does. Not sure what specifically he wants, but that'll add to the cost. That said, I'm definitely in for one whenever it happens.
