A question for LOTR owners. The first of many I am sure.

When playing, during the multiball rounds, the sound seems to get MUCH louder. Is this normal? When the multiball rounds are over, the sound returns to the normal level.

Just wondering if I have a sound issue or if that is just what the game does.

Thanks,
Chris

That is actually intentional on Stern games. Off the top of my head I can't remember what it is called, but if you look in the manual or browse around the adjustments you'll find the option to turn it off.

Huh. Interesting. I did not see anything about it in the manual, but I will check again. Thanks :)

On my TSPP it is Feature Adjustment 36, Allow Volume Effects. If you set it to "NO", it won't raise and lower the volume at certain points such as multiball. This feature isn't listed in my manual. I'd guess that LOTR also has this as it was released after TSPP.

Thank you! I will look for that in the menus. I still don't see it in the manual, LOL

Edit: The Stern manuals are crazy full of information. No wonder it is $40 for a replacement! I hate to say it, but they are WAY more informative than the Williams manuals.

The sad thing is, they aren't any more. My Iron Manual is about half the size of TSPP. And I've heard reports of AC/DC not coming with a manual, just some sheets of paper.

Oh wow. I was very anti-Stern because of the comments I read, but I was very impressed by the LOTR manual, and I have to say, so far the game is impressing me. Guess things have changed since '04 :(

Yeah, the older Stern (and Sega) manuals were awesome. Well laid out, color-coded, detailed, easy to read. My Sega Lost World manual is amazing. Alas, the latest one I have is the LOTR LE. Basically a photocopy of the original LOYR manual, not in color, you can see where colored characters photocopied light, some kludgy substitutions made to parts of the original content. And this cheapo thing was for the LE? *sigh*

From what I hear, Tron only came with a few pages and no schematics, lol. That's just pretty much unforgivable when these things cost what they do. Every single problem I've had has pretty much been solved either by myself or other people referencing schematics in the manual.

I would be totally F***ED if STTNG didn't have a detailed connector schematic with wire colors in all their respective pinouts. There's so much crap on the driver board it's insane. Like 20-30 connectors. >_<
