ok I have a really nice huo lotr that I got, but it has a right lower flipper problem
when I got it, q 16, on driver board was fried, (lower right flipper drive )
q 16, and the flipper coil had been replaced by the last repair guy

I replaced q 16, again, and it blew the fuse right away and fried q 16 again

the coil was wired right, and looks tests good
but looks like a heavy duty lotr coil

just to be on the safe side I sent the driver board off, got it tested and repaired, only thing wrong they found was q 16, but I know if I plug it in, it will likely blow the fuse and q 16 again,

what else can cause this? I plan to get a new coil, just to be safe, but suspect it will still do the same, ?
this is a huo game with no one monkeying in it, could it be a kinked wire or short in the wiring cause this?
or?

If the coil is wired backwards or if the diode on the coil fails this can happen. To be extra safe replace the coil which should come with a new diode... and you should be fine. If it still blows you must have a wiring short.

Make sure the fuse on that coil circuit is rated correctly too. I doubt that is your issue but check to be sure.

It's a whitestar thing. I don't know why, but on whitestar games, you'll often blow up a transistor when the flipper coil goes "bad" somehow. If you just put in another coil, it'll fry itself too. If you just change the transistor it'll blow up the new one when you turn on the game. You have to replace the transistor and the coil at the same time.

lotr

the game has been attempted to be fixed by at least 2 repair men
they replaced q16 but not the diode or coil,
then q16 blew, and then the replaced the coil, but not q 16
so not both same time, so one kept taking the other out I suppose
thanx I will try both at same time
