I went without playing this for 3 weeks while I stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt it. Than, this. Not a big deal, I know, but I have NEVER had this happen in my 26 years of owning pinball machines. Maybe I am just too good :)

Oh snap (for realz).

Did you scream out something like, "Noooooo! My precious!" when it happened? :D

I have a customer who received a Transformers NIB and his flipper must have been a micro hair off because his rubber kept sliding off. I have never seen that happen either. I sent him a new flipper and it is fine now.

I have never seen this. Usually it breaks at the seams, or at the tip.

Since you had it all taken apart maybe the flipper got cracked if it accidentally was smashed or stressed while out of the machine. Maybe cracked when you put the new rubber on it? Or maybe you put in some crazy powered solenoid to make ring shots easier ;)

Yeah, I am sure it had some hairline crack in it from something, LOL

Suprised the heck out of me when it happened though.

Thats why you buy WIlliam's games. We all know Stern is lower quality :)

Michael

I wonder who makes those flipper bats for Stern? I also wonder who made the flipper bats for WMS? I've seen lots of WMS\Bally bats snap but never like that.

OP, until you get your new flipper bat you could always poor plastic epoxy in the it and leave it upside down until the epoxy hardens. That would at least get the game playable again.use the rubber to hold it together...
