I have a Jurassic Park Lost world. I heard I can play House of the dead 2 on it as well.
What do I need to do this. Just a Board?
Thanks guys!

According to the arcade museum entry it looks like that's all you need.

The Arcade Museum said:
The upright version of this game uses the same cabinet and wiring as The House Of The Dead. A JAMMA board swap is all that is required to change over to the other game.

Rad that you have the Lost World too, man, I love that game. My dad used to take my brother and me to play it every weekend.

Awesome! Ya, its a great game. My son and wife have a blast with it. It was actually a lucky find. Found it for 500 in perfect shape. Accept one gun didnt work and the other gun didnt work some of the time. He was scrapping it if I didn't buy it. Got it home, found a loose connection. Then I calibrated the guns in the test mode. Works perfect!

So, if any one has the House of the Dead 2 Board, I want it!

I don't think its as easy as that.... I believe the Lost World has 14 sensors and HOTD2 uses 10.

That and the Lost world is Model 3 based and HOTD2 is Naomi... so the IO might be an issue.

I have a Lost World and am currently planning to convert it to Happ guns, since the Type 2 guns cost an arm and a leg.... and I'd rather have a HOTD2 as well anyways.

Figures.lol How much are the Happ guns?

Awesome find man! If I could get a Lost World that cheap I'd be all over it too. :D Glad it's in a nice home. ;)

As for the sensors to the board, not sure since I don't own one myself. :/

Happ guns won't work on HOTD2, from what I understand, they will only work with Sega Type 2 guns.

Lost World will work with either providing you have the right IO .... I just picked up 2 new happ guns for $70 off craigslist and the IO for $30.... although I've seen them go for $60+ .... actually all the way up to $150.... and I still need the wiring for it....

A brand new Sega Type 2 from happ costs $500+ ebay has one for $370ish right now.... I can't drop that much into one gun.

So currently my idea is to convert the Lost World... and either sell the sensors and sell the gun to cover the conversion...... or the more likely situation of converting and then holding onto the gun in case I find a HOTD2 with a broken gun..... at that point I can pick it up cheap and have a spare gun ready to go!

I've tried the less led light board (10) and the full one that came in the game (14) and the gun tracking seems perfect either way so i wouldn't let that be a issue in swapping boards just fyi. I was thinking you could just swap out the pcb for some reason as i've thought about doing it also.

Cool, Im going to try it. Need to find a board tho.

Contact Ken Westerfield at www.irepairsega.com before you spend any money on parts for a possible board swap. He knows these games inside and out and can tell you if it is possible to play HOD2 in JPLW.

For some reason I thought this came up in a thread a couple of years ago and it was determined that it was not possible. But I could be mistaken. I own JPLW myself.

You will be glad you called Ken either way. He is very helpful.

Ok, contacted Ken Westerfield. He said, These are completely different systems. The only thing close to similar is the tracking system. HOD2 uses a 10 LED Lost World uses 12. Other than that nothing would be useable from the Lost World to run the HOD2.
I also mentioned to him I also have a Jambo Safari, and asked if Crazy Taxi 2 would work.
He replied, and said Crazy Taxi 2 will work no problem in Jambo safari.

I have the sitdown version of Jambo Safari, and it looks like quite a few of the Naomi games will work and pretty much swap right in.... I think the biggest issue is the shifter in some of the games (although I seem to remember a list of shifter issues and work arounds ... including driving in automatic)

Although I'm a little confused on the Crazy Taxi 2 part....
Crazy Taxi was Naomi.
Crazy Taxi 2 was Dreamcast (never in arcades)
Crazy Taxi 3 High Roller was Chohiro (or however you spell that board set)

That being said, Crazy Taxi should drop right in

Although I may be wrong on the Crazy Taxi 2 part, I just always thought 2 was never in the arcades.

Oh and I second Ken from iRepairSega.com is awesome, he answered my questions on Lost World too.... very quickly too I might add. Once I break my toys I'll have to have him repair them!

Yes, Crazy Taxi. Sorry not 2. Ken said the shifter shouldn't be an issue.
