Lost Highway Arcade Party aftermath...with pics!

Couple of statistics:

Gun Fight had about $25 worth of quarters in it.

My candy machine took in $13.75

Like a fool I forgot to check Sea Wolf's coin counter pre-party (its on freeplay). I think it did as well as Gun Fight.

Both jamma games were constantly occupied as well, since the continue feature is popular....
Centipede got played... a lot
I think the Pirate EM shooting game did pretty well too.
next in line was Gyruss, Asteriods and Asteroids Deluxe.

A really nice mix of games... something there that would appeal to almost anyone.

The more I look at these pics, the more I realize that when it comes to the "rules" of developing themes for your game room, there are no ( and should never be) rules. I would probably have more fun checking out John's gameroom than going to CAX. There is nothing better than watching people get creative and blend things together that would not normally be blended. John , you have really pulled something off and raised the bar. It's one of those things that would sound odd on paper, but seeing is believing. The truth is in there !

Right on! Great looking arcade. Love that Fallout suit next to Missile Command. How many people jump coming through that door not knowing it is there?

Thanks again Dave. I literally have pages of things written down (as far as ideas go) that I will incorporate into my arcade. I'm constantly working on those things. I just want people to have fun and I want them to come back. I had a lot of fun showing people the "Emergency Booth", which strangely enough attracted a lot of attention. If I had the money I would build a separate building that replicates an abandoned airplane hangar....and I would go to town decorating, believe me!

The "downed pilots" are real mannequins; they're 6'2" tall. Most of the gear is authentic period items. They always freek out people when they first see them. They scare me every time I go down there!

Come on, no one played the Gorf that has the WR? :(

Actually, Gorf got more love than I thought it would. I pulled a lot of quarters out of it compared to some of my other parties. Half of my games are on freeplay; but just from observing I would say the games as a whole brought in at least $200 in quarters if not $250. I had $100 in quarters in a coin bucket for people to use, and we had to go into the games and pull those quarters out after a few hours to restock the coinbucket. The freeplay games had just as many plays if not more.

Phetty, thanks for posting those pics. Dammit I wish you could've stayed over, we had a lot more to discuss than we had time for....

I'll take the blame for that. I was the driver for Shawn, and I dragged him out a bit early. Next time I'll have to make plans to arrive earlier, and stay longer :)

Hell, that's ok Brad. I'm just glad you guys took the time to drive all the way down here and check things out. I was honored to host all of you guys...

I wish we would've had time to use your rejuvenator. I would've liked to learn something new.

Be glad you didn't need it...all of your monitors looked pretty good :)

The Aero Fighters monitor wigs out a little bit when the screen is full of explosion, but it wasn't too bad. Other than that all of your monitors looked really good. Gorf needs a degauss though.

It actually worked out pretty well for me, thanks again Brad for driving. I got home at 3am and had to be up at 7am. Talk about the Redeye Warrior.

Ah, glad to hear it! I take it no one beat your HS :D

Nobody here beat my score (haha), but someone beat my WR a couple of months ago. You have to respect that. But without sounding like a trash talking tough guy, I plan on taking that score back this winter.....

Ah, didn't realize it had fallen. Well, no doubts here that you'll reclaim it - just have to get back into playing shape, haha. 4+ hours again, egads.

Well, kinda sadly, the guy that took the WR from me didn't get a lot of attention for doing so. He put up over 1 million 100K, a score that is just phenomenal. Of course it was posted over at Twin Galaxies, but not here on klov. I sure wasn't going to post it here! I am glad there is someone who took enough interest and has enough skill to have beaten me. Records are made to be broken. It will be a real test to see if I can take the record back. I do believe I have an 8 hour game in me, but we shall see. I'll go down swinging, I'll tell you that much....

Hold on there bucko, you're telling me that both your Sea Wolf AND GORF world records have been bested since I saw you last? WTF? I thought you were somebody. I even shook your hand. Now I just feel dirty.

John, I've said it before, but, great looking arcade! Love to see those action shots of people playing the games. I love to see the work that goes into making everyone's personal arcade space "their own." Truly awesome!
