Lost Centipede sync

I recently installed a new-to-me G07-904 in my centipede. Worked great for a few days, then suddenly, horizontal sync went out and hasn't returned.

Now I'll admit up front, I haven't pulled the monitor and done any reflowing yet. But to me, it doesn't seem to be acting like a cracked joint issue. It doesn't change with heat, and I haven't seen any change when thwoking it. (Though with a G07 in a centipede cabinet, I haven't done much powered-up fiddling at the video header.)

With very careful adjusting (with my hand holding the adjustment tool in place in the h-hold pot), I can get the monitor to almost sync. (See video below.)

And of course, I'm trying to get ready for a Christmas party.

So I'm looking for guidance. Am I wrong, and it's probably a bad joint? Suggestions?

Just looked at the vid again, and your problem is simple. Pull the chassis and look for the cold or bad solder joint next to C301, roughly around W428. (wire jumper 428)

Thanks! Was hoping to get to this tonight, but my G05-801 decided to quit when I moved it back into its cabinet.

I'll follow up when I've checked it out (hopefully tomorrow).

Would the lack of solder on X305's collector effect this? Centipede is positive sync, so I don't see that it would, but I guess I'll find out in a few moments. It's suspicious in any case.

Quick question. Where does the black wire from the dag strap plug in? I pulled it loose, and didn't notice.

We have sync!!!! :):):)

I need to brush up on my extremely-forgotten electronics, since I still don't see how X305 affects things when its base is floating. But that's why I'm a software engineer. I'll ask one of the EE's at work tomorrow, who will probably shake their heads sadly at the question. (But then, I laugh at their programming skills, so that makes us even.)

Oh, and I won't reveal the well-respected KLOV-er who forgot to solder that joint before selling me the rebuilt monitor.... :D

We all make mistakes when we are rushing to get something done for people or stay up late. I've pulled chassis' from monitors to find the legs for the soldered in capacitors still attached......and yes, I've forgotten to solder some things because I was tired, interrupted, or just missed it.......and no, I didn't sell him the g07.
