Been collecting for about 6 years now, and as you see in my sig, I have about 20 games. I have enough room for a total of about 35 and had a want list that I was working toward acquiring.

Last week I bought an Addams Family pin.

........

A Family Guy is for sale near me and I'm seriously considering selling a chunk of my collection to finance it. I know this is normal, I've seen and heard of this happening to lots of others. I'll never sell my DK, Paperboy, etc. But Good Lord. It's like trying crack after years of smoking weed.

Wait till you buy one that's missing almost everything, because you like the theme and you tell yourself, "I can do this............."

(coming from a man who bought just the "body" of an EK pin- missing legs, head, basically looked like the guy in Metallica's "One" video.. [LAND-MINE HAS] TAKEN MY ARMS.TAKEN MY LEGS. TAKEN MY SOUL. LEFT ME WITH LIFE IN HELL)

lol me too, I'm 43 - I remember watching it late at night on MTV back in high school. The DVD set is pretty cool, most of the stuff that MTV edited out is restored. Like Neil blasting snot rockets across the room. Comedy gold.

I totally understand. I was up to 10 vids in my gameroom then a very gracious KLOVer (YODAinMN) gave me a great price on a Pinbot machine. I've wanted this pin since I used to play it in my best friend's basement when we were in grade school. I sold 2 games and another $500 in parts and just picked it up this last weekend. It is about 90% working right now and is just having some switch issues that I'm slowly working through... but I am totally addicted. I've looked at what other games I could give up in order to buy another pin. I think I have 2 that I could let go quite easily and another 3 that I could let go but I might regret selling them later. But hey, if I sold 5 games I could afford another pin. :)

Congrats on the AF pickup. I put a lot of quarters into that game at the bar I used to frequent in college.

I love my video arcade games, but I've downsized from 20+ of them and only two pins in the past 2 years to now I have 11 pins and 8 arcade machines.

Right now I'm just taking a hard look at my vids and selling the ones that aren't must haves and am rolling that money into more pinball machines. It's a disease!

Bwahaha! Welcome to sickness.

At most, I was at 15 vids, but am now down to 5 -- having traded them for pins. (Including some machines that I was told I was crazy for getting rid of.)

My first round of vids-for-pins trading was pretty easy to make, while the second and most recent round was a bit tougher. I'm now down to the bottom of the must-have barrel, yet if a trade opportunity came up for a great pin or two, I can't wholeheartedly say that I would refuse making a deal. Especially since I play my pins every...single...day, while my vids just sit there (which, more often than not, has always been the case).

Yep, I totally understand the feeling. I just sealed the deal on a Black Knight, and I pick it up on Saturday. I've been going nuts on my midnight shifts at work, reading up everything I can on restoration and the quirks of the electronics (which there are a lot in my case).

I would love to score a black knight. I don't know just yet what I will walk away with at the Allentown convention, but I will definatly be walking away with at least one pin, possiably two. I definatly want 5 or 6 but that will have to wait till I have more room.

I am at the point were I am seriously thinking about selling off most of my vids. I'm up to 5 pins now and don't have any more room, so I need to sell some games and parts, pcb's, to make a few bucks to buy some more.

I think a gameroom is much cooler if it has both pins and vids but to be honest I'm with you guys. I could easily let go of most of my vids and add a few more pins.

Yeah I'm still hanging onto my vids by a thread ...I have room in the garage, so it's no biggie ...I still have a box of PCB's, but sold my Candy cab. I'm thinking of getting another (better) Candy for my PCB's ....but honestly if I just sold them all, I probably wouldn't lose any sleep. Does B.Rap Boys work in MAME? I don't think it did years back....hehe.

I think it is in MAME now.

What kind of Candy did you have? I actually have 2 New Astro's right now, one for SHUMPS (Vertical) and other for fighters and side scrollers (Horizontal). I also picked up a MVU-4 to keep a Neo cab, and still have my MK2 and MK3 cabs. I really want to keep them, but if it comes down to it, I might let a few go.
