Interesting one: the arcade I work on games for just picked up a 1974 Skylab pinball. The playfield is pretty good, but the backglass has some really bad spots (Skylab for example, is down to paint flecks - anyone have a source for Pantone Red?)

I do have one question: I'm leaning towards replacing both flipper coils. There is a lot of play between the slug and the sleeve, and it's the old metal sleeve style.

I'm thinking of ordering two coils with new sleeves, just to give it a running start, to go with the new beer seal, rubber ring kit, and thorough cleaning / going through it is going to get.

Are there any thoughts or experiences out there? I also have a working Jubilee in the wild at the same arcade, and the flipper coils don't have the same "looseness"

I'd go with new coils and sleeves.

I'd go with nylon sleeves.

I've never lost a coil with a nylon sleeve, but have with the metal ones. The plunger wears a spot inside the coil and eventually shorts it out.

LTG : )
