Looks like a good buy if your in Tampa

hmm, this would be a good addition to my home arcade, so i might give it a shot.. I just hate bidding on an unknown and finding out it needs more work $ wise than what it's worth...

The bottoms look to have very little damage, the bezel if glass looks like its in good shape.
You could part it out and get $199 I would think. I seen worse then this go at auction for $200+ so someone could turn it into a multicade.

Maybe ask if you can come by and see it if you live close...

Someone has what looks like an non-working original Galaga in Tampa for sale on ebay for $199 buy it now. Looks like it is in good shape too!

Thanks smokin! Sorry khabbi...
I pulled the trigger on this one. This was just an hour away for me. Turns out to be one of the cleanest, best looking games I own. Only odd thing about this was the power supply and harness. I reasembled the original J1 connector that I found in the bottom of the cab, going by the pinouts on the schematics, and it fired up in test mode. I flipped the switch over to play, and it came up, sound and graphics for about 1 minute, then went dead. The voltages at the PCB are way off and adjusting the pot on the power board has no effect. I'm between rebuilding the power board (90420) or trying to install a switcher, if I can figure it out. All in all a great purchase, luck was with me on this one.

Galaga is one of the games i actually put a switcher in. Bob Roberts sells the switcher and adapter and he also has the info and parts needed to rebuild the original. Nice score.

Thanks for the info, I just fired off an e-mail to Bob for the conversion kit, getting one for my Moon Patrol also.

Awesome, Glad to hear it was as clean as it looked. Would love to see some more pics if you get a chance. I would have bought it, if it would have been in Dallas. How come I never find $200 cherries in the Big D?!

Hopefully you'll get it running soon.

Dallas is an arcade game graveyard. I wish I was wrong on this, but I'm not. That Burgertime on the Dallas CL was the only good deal I've ever seen that was legit.

Seems like the northeast or the west coast is where it's at.It's definitely not here.

Gratz! I put a bid on the game and the guy emailed me and said he was going to counter-offer, but I really wasn't aggressive with this one as I don't have the room right now. I thought the BIN was a good price, though.. I offered $150 and thought he'd counter for $175, but oh well.

Glad to report all is well with the new addition. It's always a good feeling to find a package from Bob on the doorstep. 15 minutes later, and I was playing some sweet Galaga, and realizing it was harder than I remember. I've had some pretty crappy deals go down lately. The Space Duel I bought last fall has been a serious PITA/Money Pit, it's still not working. So I've been due a nice easy score. Here are some snapshots from my phone of some of the best moments this hobby has to offer. And thanks again Smokin, I owe you a generous portion of your favorite beverage.

Damn that is one sweet machine! Especially for $199!!! Cleaner then any machine I have bought and the cheapest I have paid is $300!

Glad I could help you score. So when you get bored with it you'll sell it to me for $199, Right? LMAO!

I may just take you up on the beverage one day and maybe a free game of Galaga!
