This is a weird one - but I figured you guys might have an inside on this. I'm trying to get my parents a booth for their house - they love going to old diners, and they've mentioned wanting one in the past. I've had this in the "Make it happen" section of my mind for few years, it just hasn't "happened" yet.

Only problem for me is, I'm sure they're freaking expensive new. Have you guys had any luck searching out used booths on the cheap? I'm not opposed to reupholstering a booth, which I couldn't be considering I'm looking for CHEAP. lol I'm pretty sure I could wrap some vinyl and replace some foam. Just not sure where to check and what I should expect to pay used.

Any ideas, concerns, suggestions?

This will go in my parents arcade section of the house they currently have 1 of my games in the room and I figure this could probably buy me space for a couple more. so I figged it was alright in this section.

You might want to keep an eye on this website

Lots of auctions out of Michigan, stuff going for dirt cheap. They usually liquidate restaurants when they go out of business, including booths (I know i have seen them on there) There are quite a few arcades going for next to nothing. It's always about actually getting out there and bidding. I guess the motivation for me should be some of those completed listings for 5.00 for a complete cabinet (really low prices all around)

Watch for restaurant auctions. I have see entire restaurants furnishings go at auctions before, including old booths. They usually go cheap and not all of them are trashed.

Pictures when you get some, I'm curious how that would work out.

They used to sell them off at an unclaimed freight store here in St. Cloud. I believe they were only charging $40 for a complete side or corner booth w/table. My wife wouldn't let me pick one of them up, prolly a good thing, as I found this hobby shorty after and would have run out of room long before now.

Like this? (The lens on my phone camera is cracked so it looks hazy--apologies) This came from a furniture store in an artsy part of town where people like retro or atypical furnishings. They have a lot of 70's & 80's styles. When I bought this ($75) they had another one that was mint green. I passed on the Clancy's (old fast food hamburger chain around here) overhead glass lamp.

Auctionzip.com is a cool resource too. You can always ask a rest. if they have any in storage they want to get rid of cheap.
