A friend of mine needs someone to fix his Defender CRT in Vegas. It has been flickering for months, which he has been 'fixing' by shaking the cabinet, but that's not working anymore.

He's not very 'online'.

If you know of a local tech can you either send me the contact for the tech, or pm me and ask for my friends number if you can help out.

Sorry if this forum is meant to be for help with doing it yourself, but this guy is not at all technical and wisely (in my opinion) doesn't want to put his hands in the back of the CRT.

thanks,

Located in Las Vegas. Not sure if they do house calls though - he may still need to pull the monitor chassis and take it to them.

Don't know, might be an option for your friend if he doesn't want to deal with a crt monitor. Seems like he's not really a collector or tech literate.

Yep, he's a non techie player. I'm sure he'd be happy playing on that (if someone fitted it for him) but I don't know what he thinks about keeping machines original etc.

I made him a Defender machine with JROK and LCD for his other place.

Defender probably plays terrible on LCD. they can't really keep up with the fast action of the game.

if it's a common monitor @paul400 would be the best bet. otherwise @arcadecup
