Looking for some old woodrail parts...

If you don't have water damage gluing, filling, sanding, and a new coat of polyurethane and your legs will look like new. You can find them for sale but they might not be in much better shape than yours

Here's a few detailed photos of the spot where my ball lift belongs, I measured out the distance between the holes I found and marked some other things I would like to point out.

Yep. Looks like something missing alright. The extra holes in the cabinet side might indicate that the ball lift has already been grafted from something else. That pivot piece looks a lot sturdier than a Genco part of the same era. Not a lot of Baker pix on ipdb to look at either.

I went back and looked at the front view in your other thread. I see a ball shooter casting, with the ball lift knob pushed in. So, the part you need is the ball lift arm.

The pic below shows Skill Pool with the ball trough removed and the lift knob pushed in.

The ball would sit on the end of the arm, and the curved part keeps the rest of the balls from dropping into the cabinet.

I don't think it would be a terribly difficult part to make.

That's a great view of what I'm looking for...What is the spring on the left used for? And what is the spring attatched to the rod on mine used for? I've never owned a pin with a manual ball lift. Does the ball get pushed up when you pull out or push in? I'm just confused because of the spring there and everything.

I think the spring in your pic might be used to pull the lift arm down. It doesn't drop back down by itself with a bunch of balls in the trough.

The spring on the Wms ball lift pusher was a new improved thing that was only used for the last few years of 5-ball games. The older games just had a knob on the end of the rod that would push on the arm. There's a pic of the catalog a page or so back. It shows all the pieces.

You push the coin slide in, timer is reset activating power switch, score stepper should reset, relay bank is reset, balls drop from playfield outhole into trough. Pull slide back out. First ball should sit on lift arm, the rest should stay in the trough as the lift knob is pushed in. Ball should drop into shooter lane when the lift knob is all the way in. Shoot ball. You can nudge the game a bit to affect ball behavior - try not to tilt.

There may not be any indication of 'game over' until the timer bell rings and game power shuts off.

Ahh...it's all starting to make sense now...I noticed the timer when I first started working on the electrical parts, it doesn't ring when it's done, but now that I know it's supposed to, I'm sure I'll figure it out. These old 5 ball machines are pretty neat I can't wait to get this one done! I really appreciate all the information you're giving me, it's really helping me out. I just hope I don't have to build a new ball lift arm, that'd suck.

Here I offer up for free 2 sets of pinball legs that you may or may not be able to use and I get completely ignored. Not even a thanks but no thanks. WTF? Screw it, these are going in the trash tomorrow.

I agree, especially since its the only thing stopping me from finishing and playing this game, just wish someone had one laying around that I could retrofit into it, and also the whole "keeping it original" thing irks me if I have to build a new one.

Baker made games for three years and went tits up 71 years ago. Genuine original pieces are as common as rocking horse poo.

If you make one scratch 1942 on it and say it was like that. The war years were all about patch, repair, recycle, make-do.

Haha, I guess you're right...no one will really ever see it anyway so it's not like its THAT big of a deal. I guess I'll start drawing something up in cad and seeing what I can come up with...but I'll still be on the lookout for one just in case I'm able to save me the trouble of recreating it. Since Baker machines are so uncommon are they valuable? Or do not many people care for them since they're not a big name?

hmmm. The percentage of pinheads who are nudgy fans is kinda small. But I did actually meet a guy that had nothing newer than 1941.

Uncommon doesn't necessarily translate into valuable.

that one cost me $20 and an old tube tester.

English, Australian, New Zealand, Irish, South African, and probably others from around The Empire. It's ok. I've got a stack of 'em. Hong Kong and Fiji were smaller and wouldn't work.

Sorry, I just got around to looking at that link, I must have overlooked it while I was talking about the lifter, I appologize, PM sent.

Thats cool. Shipping would probably be $40 or so. I just wanted to give back to the community and got no responses. Besides that, It's just been a bad day with work and my new boss is a total douchebag and I am just on edge right now. I really want to punch him in the face. My old boss was so cool (she clashed with the vp so she resigned) and this new boss is 5 feet 4 (vp suck dick) with a Napoleon complex and I am 6 feet 6. I am just so fed up with this recession. But I digress.

Haha I have a feeling I'll be in a similar position very soon. This morning my boss was fired and the interim one who will be taking his place is the same way. And I'll get back to you about the legs. I'm trying to strip and restore/repair my current set so hopefully that will work out but it's always nice to have a spare set, I just don't know if I can afford to have them shipped at the moment because of all the money I've already invested in this project.

I think I might have gone a bit far the other day though...

I have this Recel game that someone dragged over from Europe and it still has German coin tags. Instead of putting in Quarter tags I got Kraut coin mechs and a bunch of Deutschmarks.

dang furriners.
