Long story short, my son wants me to build 2 smaller cabs so I can take them in one car trip to the MGC so I can take him to the after party.

I'm looking to build 2 Nintendo Cabaret Cabs with 13" CRT monitors similar to this thread: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/cabinet-build-out-of-one-piece-of-plywood.224927/

I want to build each from one double sided black melamine 4x8 x 3/4" particle board (and some 3/4" plywood). I can't fit a 4x8 sheet in my car, so I'll have to make a few cuts in the parking lot of my local big box store.

I'm having trouble finding plans for how to cut them out. I found a file or two for CNC, but crv files are above my wood working skills.

I remember seeing a diagram of how to cut them out on here long ago with all of the sizes, but I can't find the thread now.

I don't want to have to choose between horz or vert monitor placement, but I'd imagine the plans will let me do either and maybe switch if I switch games? If nothing else, I'll pick horizontal monitor placement for now.

Thanks!

And just so you know, I did not have plans, I just used an original as a template and then built the next 3 using my first copy as a template. I obviously modified the marquee area cause I didn't like the stupid sticker. Most everything else is the same. I used paint and vinyl on the first copy, but on the next three I used laminate. The first three became Nintendo cabarets, but the last one I built became a Q*bert.

I can't get registered on the first, during login, I get website not found on one of the cname domains after putting in my new password. :/

The second, I was already at. It has CNC crv files, which may work? But the other files don't have any numbers/inches on them.

What will you charge me to build a couple? ;)

I think I built and sold the last two fully built but empty ones for $550-600 each. They were both commissions that happened to be requested at the same time. That was in 2021 though, and I have no idea how material prices have jumped since then.

I don't think I was serious. :) But I am tempted. I kind of want to build them with my son.

I was doing some more searching and came across your old DK thread: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/dk-cabaret.136478/

The key sizes look to be 51 3/4" tall at peak and 23 10/16 wide for the sides.

I can cut at 24" or 24.5" if 49x97. And again at 53".

I think I'll tweak my cab to be 20" wide as my peak width is about 40.5" in the back of the car.

The rest I can fabricate as I build.

Thanks!

The website is mine. The dxf files are to scale. The unit of measure for them is in inches. There are a number of dated howto video on the site to help you on your way.

No need to login. Everything is posted for free to download. The login is just for shared projects , notes, and thing not ready to share at the moment because they are incomplete. You aren't missing anything.
