As i'm sure some of you have experienced, there is nothing worse than a helpless hangup on a game restoration where you can't find what you are looking for, or can't get fixed what you need. Some of you have read prior posts through out the last few years regarding my situation, but there are new members and people make new connections, or learn new repair skills, so i'll ask again.

Does anyone know of someone, or can anyone themselves repair an Atari STUN Runner soundboard for me? 77 out of 108 sounds do not work. If you know why or what it could be, please help me. This is a very common problem, but no one has the right answer. My last connection flaked out and now i'm stuck desperately seeking help.

Normally I wouldn't post something like this in the General Threads, but i've posted similar in the Repair section, and it does not get the same hits or exposure, plus this isn't really about asking how to repair. Hopefully I won't ever have to post a similar thread to this again.

Thanks

Do you notice sounds missing in gameplay? Sounds like you're checking sounds in the test menu and its pretty common for Atari games of that era to have "blank" numbers in sound tests.

The same sounds I test in Test Mode also are the same exact sounds missing from gameplay.
The worst sounds now are the ones that need to blend two sounds together to make one. When only one part of the sound plays without blending the second sound over top, it sounds very harsh instead of harmonious. This is a result of the missing sounds.

I don't know. I wouldnt know how to test it either, that's why I need someone to fix it for me. I have little knowledge about board repair and functionality because I never had much opportunity to learn to fix (my games all work, never malfunctioned). Wiring I can do, the cosmetics I can do, but understanding how boards work in detail I don't grasp fully yet.
