I am a brand new member and I am looking for some games but am having a hard time finding them. I went to the superauction in Belleville, IL but I didn't see much. They had a lot of neo-geo cabs, but most of them looked like they had been to hell and back(don't people clean these thing). Their were only like 5 pins I was hoping their would be an adams family pin. I went looking for (Alien 3 the gun), (lucky&wild), (laser ghost) and (crisis zone) . I almost bid on a street fighter 2 it was super clean with chrome t-molding but their was something wrong with the screen. I think someone bought it for $150.00. If you live in st.louis or around and you have these game for a reasonable price and in decent condition please let me know. Don't worry about adams family after some research I have discovered even at an auction it is to expensive but I can dream.

I almost forgot is superauction a good auction company or are they scamers and how does phantom bidding work and is it legal. please only seniors member for this question.

Thanks

There are no arcade games in the St. Louis area. Moving to a different city may help. Plus, this is the wrong forum. You may want to post this in the wanted forum.

Kent thanks for nothing. I wonder why your feed back score is 0. LOSER

Your feedback score is zero too. :) Seriously though, the feedback system is very new and many people are at zero. People are just starting to use it now. Sure his response could have been friendlier, but alienating collectors in the area won't help you score games. You should post to the Wanted Forum and not the For Sale forum. You just need to ignore the sarcasm about moving to another city. Looks like there is a bunch of over-priced beat to shit games around there from what I can see. I might have made the same comment.

if you dont mind driving up to rockford il i have some good deals..

Theres also a GREAT and i mean GREAT GUy down in decatur il pm me if you want his info..

Hes got 3 or more warehouses PACKED with just about anything youd want, but come with a fat wallet otherwise you wont leave happy heh... i cant wait till my next shopping spree!

To answer your question about Superauctions, they are fine, and for the most part on the up and up. There have been accusations of phantom bidding before, and sellers are allowed to bid up their own items, I think this is usually an issue with Pins more than vids though. The selection there has sucked for the past 2 auctions, used to be much better. Next one is in Oct (I think the 10th?)

They allow reserves, and I think that is the deal with the phantom bidding. I wish they would just state the reserve instead of that crap. The seller can basically just shill you while standing there. Dress like a poor mofo at the auctions. :)

Hmmm ... my response was a joke and not meant to be taken seriously ... I would have thought the comment "There are no arcade games in St. Louis" would have given it away, but I guess not ...

Constantly look on craigslist as some good ones surface from time to time. I can tell you that they are few and far between on the missouri side. This state sucks from lack of available games!

I second that recomendation. Go see him, He has everything you ever wanted.

Does Troy deal heavily in pinball? Or should I say do you Troy, I know you're on here. Decatur isn't too far away. Is there a list of what all he has or is that laughable to even ask for given the amount of stuff? I've seen a pic I think and it was nuts. I'd almost like to go just to look around more than even buy anything, lol.

I dont know if i would say that i am heavy into pins, i do have about 40-50 pins (not counting personal) which may seem like alot, but compared to the 400 video games i have, its a small amount.

Anyone that knows me know that your always welcome to come here and look around. Now dont listen to caddilacman about bringing a fat wallet. Im not high priced, its just that he wanted one of each which can get expensive. If you want to come look around, thats okay. But always better to come prepared to buy something as im sure you will find something that you want for a fair price.

But, if you come and dont buy anything, ill make you at least buy lunch. But chances are that if you buy something, then lunch is on me. And its usaually at a local place called Krekels (greasy hamburger joint) ask klover demogo about that, as he would be jealous of me buying krekels for anyone. He grew up in this area and always reminds me how he would like a krekel burger

Troy

Oh man -- I'm sitting here hungry now and salivating! Stop talking about Krekels! :)

And yes, I've had the In-n-Out burgers, and Steak and Shake, etc, etc and they're good. But not Krekel's good!

40-50 pins means I could definitely find something to buy I'm sure. Right now is a really shitty time financially for me. My dad just capped out on his lifetime health insurance due to colol/liver/lung cancer and is caught in this ultimate Catch 22 of insurance/pension/disability coverage since he's not 55 yet. So I'm paying some of my parent's bills in the time being. That being said that should clear up in a few months I hope. I'm mainly interested in Williams System 11 machines. They don't have to be collector's quality either, more or less stuff that is meant to be played. I'll have to see about coming out there sometime when I get a bit more spending money. Decatur's about 2 or 3 hours from St. Louis right?

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.

There are lifetime caps on health insurance? I had no idea. Is this common?

Decatur is about 2.5 hours from StL, depending on where you're starting from and how fast you drive.

Yeah, there are insurance limits depending on your job. His is pretty low, 750k, which adds up quick when you had as much shit done as he's had in the past two years. Mine at my job is $5 million. He'll be fine once he hits 55, he's 53 now, but right now its this weird series of Catch 22's. He's actually fine to work just can't since he wouldn't have any insurance otherwise, so he has to get on retirees insurance. Also he can't work since it will screw his disability claims. He worked as a mechanic on construction equipment, which I have no clue how he did it going in after being on chemo, but he's pretty damn tough so I'm not too surprised. All in all he's doing extremely well just depends how long chemo is effective for him.

Anyway, 2 1/2 hours is close enough to stop by on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for sure. These warehouses could be my financial downfall, lol. The burgers we will definitely have to partake in. Do they sell Ski in Decatur? I'd have to stock up on Ski there as well if they do.

Interesting -- didn't realize there were insurance caps like that. Glad to hear that he's doing better.

I like how Troy is addicting people to these burgers that he's managed to lure in with his game warehouses. :)

My only tip: they pull their burgers right off their grill and put it on a bun. It comes off HOT. I personally let them cool for 7-10 min before I eat them but that's just me. Best damn burgers I've ever had.

I don't know if they have Ski in Decatur or not. Not even sure what that is, actually, and I don't live in Decatur anymore.

That's probably a good thing or I'd have bought 20+ games from Troy by now.

When you go up to visit Troy and chat about it here, you'll have to leave a 'burger review' too. :)

Ski is a soda that's bottled in Breese, IL. Weird mix of orange and lemon, nothing like it as far as I'm concerned, especially when it is fresh. Its based out of Chattanooga though. Anyway, yeah I'll have to get up there sometime soon. A buddy of mine is looking for a 720 so he might tag along as well.
